Monday Injury Report

Quarterbacks

Arizona's Jeff Blake injured his knee in the fourth quarter of the game, but returned to action.
Status: The injury is considered minor at this time.

Atlanta's starting QB Michael Vick remains sidelined due to his broken leg.
Status: Vick was listed as out on the injury report. Though he has returned to practice on a limited basis, Vick suffered a setback in practice last week - the leg/ankle swelled after being stepped on by a practice-squad player. He doesn't look ready to take the field anytime soon.

Chicago's starting QB Chris Chandler injured his right shoulder in the game on Sunday.
Status: The injury is initially diagnosed as a sprain - Chandler was unable to continue in the second half of the game. Coach Jauron refused to speculate on the severity of the injury after the game on Sunday. On Monday the team is calling the injury a "slight separation".

St. Louis' starting QB Marc Bulger had ice on his throwing shoulder after the game, but no injury was reported.

San Francisco's starting QB Jeff Garcia missed the game on Sunday due to his injured ankle.
Status: Garcia was questionable on the Friday injury report. He expects to play in the next game, vs. Baltimore.

Seattle's starting QB Matt Hasselbeck hurt his left shoulder in the game on Sunday, but returned to action.
Status: The injury is not considered serious at this time.

Washington's starting QB Patrick Ramsey left the game on Sunday due to what looked like a concussion (the Redskins will only admit that he was "woozy") and did not return to action. He also has a sore shoulder as a result of the hit.
Status: Ramsey looked glassy-eyed and stunned on the sidelines long after the hit that likely concussed him. He will be evaluated further later in the week.

Baltimore's starting QB Kyle Boller remains sidelined due to his quadriceps injury.

Houston's starting QB David Carr missed the game on Sunday due to his shoulder injury.
Status: Carr was listed as doubtful on the Friday injury report.

Jacksonville's backup QB Mark Brunell continues to be sidelined by his left elbow injury.

Tennessee's starting QB Steve McNair injured his right calf in the game on Sunday.
Status: The injury is serious enough that coach Fisher indicated that McNair is doubtful for the next game vs. the Jets. The injury swelled a lot, and required draining on Sunday. "He did feel something pop," coach Fisher said. "He has a defect of the muscle body in the calf. We will take him for an MRI first thing [Monday] morning."


Running Backs

Arizona's Emmitt Smith remains sidelined due his broken shoulder blade.

Atlanta's starting RB Warrick Dunn left the game on Sunday with a foot injury.
Status: The injury is being called a left foot sprain right now, and x-rays for a break were negative. Further evaluations will occur later in the week. Coach Reeves sounded pessimistic about the injury, saying "It didn't look good because I think he had hurt it earlier in the game. He stayed out there and reinjured it."

Carolina's backup RB DeShaun Foster missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hand.
Status: Foster was listed as questionable before the game, but was unable to get on the field at game time.

Minnesota's Michael Bennett got ill at half-time and played sparingly in the second half on Sunday.
Status: Bennett had an upset stomach/cramps - the problem is considered minor.

New Orlean's backup RB Ki-Jana Carter suffered a turf-toe injury in the first quarter and did not return to action.
Status: The severity of the injury is unknown at this time.

New Orlean's reserve RB James Fenderson (foot) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Fenderson was listed as doubtful on the Friday injury report.

Washington's backup RB Ladell Betts (broken forearm) and starting FB/backup RB Rock Cartwright (ankle) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Betts was listed as doubtful on Friday, while Cartwright was questionable.

Buffalo's Travis Henry played despite his fractured fibula on Sunday.
Status: The injury was x-rayed after the game to discover if the injury was made worse - results are not yet available.

Cleveland's backup RB R.J. Bowers missed the game on Sunday due to his injured ankle.

Status: Drummond was listed as doubtful on the Friday injury report. He has missed many games due to this injury in 2003.

Minnesota's WR Randy Moss strained an ankle in the game on Sunday.
Status: The team acknowledges that Moss is "a little banged up", but talked more about how to get him the ball more than the minor injuries. Moss should be good to go next week.

Status: Taylor was listed as probable on the Friday injury report. However, a staph infection seems to have set into his elbow (recently operated on to remove a bursa sack). He may be out some time while the infection clears up (he's in the hospital).

Denver's starting LB Al Wilson re-injured his neck in the game on Sunday - he has a pinched nerve that is steadily getting worse.
Status: An MRI is scheduled for Wilson - he could be lost for the season, depending on what the test reveals. If Wilson goes down, all 3 of the starting LB's from opening day will have been lost to injury in 2003.

Denver's starting DE Daryl Gardener was suspended for the game on Sunday.
Status: Gardener caused a lot of ink to spill in Denver earlier in the week when he accused coach Shanahan of "setting him up" for the suspension by making a highlight film of all Gardener's poor play and playing it for the team as an example of what not to do. Evidently, Gardener took offense and was then suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team". It doesn't sound like Gardener will get out of the doghouse anytime soon, folks.

Houston's starting DE Gary Walker (toe) and reserve LB's Antwan Peek (foot) and Steve Foley (shoulder) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Peek was listed as out Friday, Walker was doubtful, and Foley questionable.

Indianapolis's starting S Idrees Bashir (shoulder), S Cory Bird (abdomen) and reserve LB Jim Nelson (collarbone) all missed the game Sunday, as expected.

Kansas City's starting LB Shawn Barber (left wrist sprain) and starting CB Eric Warfield (right elbow contusion) were injured in the game on Sunday.
Status: The injuries are considered minor at this time.

Kansas City's starting MLB Mike Maslowski (knee) and reserve DL Eddie Freeman (toe) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Both were listed as questionable on the Friday injury report.

Miami's starting DT Larry Chester suffered a thigh injury in the game on Sunday, but returned to action.

Oakland's starting S Derrick Gibson left the game on Sunday with a neck injury.
Status: Gibson has feeling in all of his extremities, and x-rays and a CAT-scan were negative. He is being evaluated further this week - right now the injury is called a neck strain.

Oakland's starting DT's John Parrella (groin) and Dana Stubblefield (ankle) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Parrella was listed as out, while Stubblefield was listed as questionable on the Friday injury report.

San Diego's FS Jerry Wilson (bruised hip) and LB Ben Leber (sprained shoulder) were injured in the game on Sunday.
Status: Neither player is expected to miss the next game due to the minor injuries.

San Diego's reserve DL Raylee Johnson (foot) missed the game on Sunday.
Status: Johnson was doubtful on Friday's injury report.

Tennessee's starting CB Samari Rolle left the game on Sunday with a mild concussion, but returned to action.
Status: The concussion appeared mild - he will be evaluated further later in the week.
