QB Michael Vick (Atl) is still out with his broken leg.  However, he has now set December 7th as he return date. 

Note that all Buffalo QBs have a bye this week.

QB Kordell Stewart (Chi) practiced on Wednesday and could be the team's #2 QB this weekend.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Kordell Stewart (Chi) may get back on the field soon but not as the team's starting QB.  That job is Chris Chandler's unless (until?) injury.  Stewart could see action in goal line and short-yardage situations.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Rex Grossman (Chi) is officially the #2 QB on the Bears now.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Danny Kanell (Den) practiced on Wednesday and should start this weekend.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Danny Kanell (Den) practiced on Friday and will start this week, despite numerous groans from fantasy owners everywhere.

QB Jake Plummer (Den) is still out with his broken foot.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Joey Harrington (Det) was able to practice with his sore finger.  He will start as expected.

QB Brett Favre (GB) has a hairline fracture on his throwing thumb.  He took a few snaps in Wednesday's practice and will be limited the remainder of the week as well.  He will start this weekend, but his effectiveness (especially on the long ball) is a big unknown at this point.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Brett Favre (GB) practiced on Thursday with a splint on his injured thumb.  He will likely wear it Sunday and well.  In related news, Favre has been hurt eight times in his career where there was doubt if he would play.  In those eight games, he has tossed 15 TDs against only 6 INTs.  Interesting.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Brett Favre (GB) took about 80% of Thursday's snaps and looked sharp.  He will start as expected.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Tony Banks (Hou) will start for the team this weekend if David Carr does not play.

QB David Carr (Hou) will most likely miss this weekend's game with his sprained ankle.  Tony Banks will get the start if Carr can't go.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB David Carr (Hou) (all but officially) will not play this weekend, but he expects to return for the November 9th game.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** David Carr (Hou) is not likely to play even as the emergency QB.  Rookie Dave Ragone will be the backup to Tony Banks this week as Carr stays off his injured right ankle.

QB Mark Brunell (Jac) is still out with his injured elbow.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Mark Brunell (Jac) was finally allowed back on the premises.  He is expected to practice next week.

QB Byron Leftwich (Jac) lost an INT but gained a lost fumble on Tuesday. Elias Sports Bureau has taken away an INT for Robaire Smith and given Kearse a sack and a forced fumble.

QB Jay Fiedler (Mia) partially participated in Wednesday's practice but has already been ruled out of the starting lineup for this weekend.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Jay Fiedler (Mia) was again limited in practice on Thursday.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Jay Fiedler (Mia) is hurt more than originally thought and is now expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks.  Brian Griese will continue to be the starter in his place.

QB Brian Griese (Mia) will make his second straight start for the team this weekend.  Head coach Dave Wannstedt said, "right now he gives us the best chance to win."

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Brian Griese (Mia) practiced with his sore thumb on Friday and will start as expected.

QB Tom Brady (NE) is still on the injury report as probable with his sore arm/elbow.  He hasn't missed any practice time and will start this weekend.

QB Chad Pennington (NYJ) has been announced as the team's starting QB this weekend.

QB Rich Gannon (Oak) will most likely not play this weekend with his injured shoulder.  Marques Tuiasosopo has been named the team's starter for Sunday.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Rich Gannon (Oak) has a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.  There is no definitive word on how long he could be out.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** QB Donovan McNabb (Phi) practiced all week despite his sore leg and will start as expected.  He removed the tape from his hand last week.

QB Jeff Garcia (SF) did not practice on Wednesday due to his ankle sprain, but he is expected to play this weekend.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** QB Jeff Garcia (SF) will not play this weekend due to his high ankle sprain.  The team says his ankle has actually worsened and that Garcia has a partially torn tendon in the ankle.  Tim Rattay will get the start.

RB Travis Henry (Buf) says the team passes too often in short-yardage situations and he feels left out of the game plan around the goal line.

*** FRIDAY UPDATE *** RB Anthony Thomas (Chi) has been named the starter this week after practicing hard on Thursday and Friday.  He has been upgraded to probable on the updated injury report.

RB Corey Dillon (Cin) could return to the starting lineup this weekend if he is mentally capable of playing. He's listed as questionable on the injury report though.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** RB Corey Dillon (Cin) returned to practice on Thursday and should play this weekend.  No word on whether the team will be sending a car for him on gameday.

RB William Green (Cle) decided to spend his free time this week getting arrested for DUI and marijuana possession.  Green has pleaded innocent to the charges, and there is no word on what consequences (if any) will be forthcoming from the Browns and / or the NFL.  Note that Green was suspended twice in college for marijuana use.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** RB William Green (Cle) will likely enter Phase One of the NFL's substance abuse program.  If so, Green will be evaluated and subject to random testing.  If he tests positive, he could enter Phase Two and be suspended for 4 games.  Of course there has been no official word from the league.

RB Richie Anderson (Dal) is still bothered by the stinger in his back and shoulder and is getting a second opinion on the injury.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** RB Richie Anderson (Dal) will likely sit this weekend with a herniated disk in his back.  Jamar Martin will get the start and Adrian Murrell will likely play as well.

RB Adrian Murrell (Dal) has been re-signed by the team.  There are rumors that Murrell could see action this weekend and cut a bit into Troy Hambrick's touches.  Another possibility is that Murrell was signed as a fallback option if Richie Anderson's injury is more serious than was first thought.

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** RB Artose Pinner (Det) has been on the reserve/non-football injury list but will begin practicing with the team next week.

RB Tony Fisher (GB) practiced on Wednesday and says he will be able to play this weekend despite his injured groin.

RB James Mungro (Ind) is still out with his injured knee.
