QB Michael Vick (Atl) is still out with his broken leg.

QB Chris Chandler (Chi) will start for the Bears. Rex Grossman is his backup. Kordell Stewart is the emergency QB.

QB Danny Kanell (Den) will start for the Broncos another week. Jake Plummer is out with a broken foot.

QB Joey Harrington (Det) was able to practice with his sore finger. He will start as expected.

QB Brett Favre (GB) has a hairline fracture on his throwing thumb, but practiced this week and will start as usual.

QB David Carr (Hou) is out with a sprained ankle. Tony Banks will start in his place.

QB Byron Leftwich (Jac) continues to start for the Jaguars.

QB Brian Griese (Mia) practiced with his sore thumb and will start for the injured Jay Fiedler for at least the next few weeks.

QB Tom Brady (NE) has a sore arm/elbow. He hasn't missed any practice time and will start this weekend.

QB Chad Pennington (NYJ) has been announced as the team's starting QB this weekend.

QB Rich Gannon (Oak) will not play this weekend. Backup Marques Tuiasosopo will get his first NFL start.

QB Donovan McNabb (Phi) practiced all week despite his sore leg and will start as expected. He removed the tape from his hand last week.

QB Jeff Garcia (SF) will not play this weekend due to his high ankle sprain. The team says his ankle has actually worsened and that Garcia has a partially torn tendon in the ankle. Tim Rattay will get the start. Ken Dorsey will back him up.

QB Tim Hasselbeck (Was) will back up starter Patrick Ramsey.

RB Emmitt Smith (Ari) is still out with his injured shoulder.

RB Jamal Lewis (Bal) practiced with his sore shoulder and will start as expected.

RB Anthony Thomas (Chi) will start this week after practicing with his sore foot. Adrian Peterson is out with an ankle injury.

RB Corey Dillon (Cin) practiced Thursday and Friday and will split time with Rudi Johnson this weekend.

RB William Green (Cle) decided to spend his free time this week getting arrested for DUI and marijuana possession. Green (Cle) will enter Phase One of the NFL's substance abuse program requiring him to be evaluated and subject to random testing. If he tests positive, he could enter Phase Two and be suspended for 4 games. Of course there has been no official word from the league.

RB Richie Anderson (Dal) is expected to miss this weekend with a herniated disk in his back. Jamar Martin will get the start and Adrian Murrell will likely play as well.

RB Artose Pinner (Det) has been on the reserve/non-football injury list but will begin practicing with the team next week.

RB Tony Fisher (GB) practiced this week and will be able to play this weekend despite his injured groin.

RB James Mungro (Ind) is still out with his injured knee.

RB Ricky Williams (Ind) was not able to practice on Friday and is not expected to play this week.

RB Dominic Rhodes (Ind) was able to practice this week with his sore knee and will back up starter Edgerrin James as expected.

RB Rob Konrad (Mia) practiced on Friday and will play as expected.

RB Michael Bennett (Min) is slated to play this weekend after being activated from the PUP list. According to head coach Mike Tice, Bennett will get 2-3 carries.

RB James Fenderson (NO) is out this week. Ki-jana Carter will back up Deuce McAllister.

RB Correll Buckhalter (Phi) starts this weekend with Brian Westbrook out. Duce Staley is also expected to get significant carries.

RB Jerome Bettis (Pit) will continue as the team's starting RB.

RB Garrison Hearst (SF) missed Friday's practice, but is expected to start as usual.

RB Marshall Faulk (StL) will be eased back into the lineup this week. Arlen Harris will start again for the Rams. Lamar Gordon will not play.

FB Cecil Martin (TB) has been released by the team.

RB Michael Pittman (TB) practiced this week with his sore hamstring and will start this weekend.

RBs Trung Canidate and Ladell Betts (Was) are out this week. The team is expected to use the combination of Chad Morton, Sultan McCullough and Rock Cartwright at RB this weekend. HC Steve Spurrier has also stated that he expects to pass more going forward.

WR Anquan Boldin and Bryant Johnson (Ari) practiced this week and will start as usual. Jason McAddley is out with an injured hamstring.

WR Kevin Dyson (Car) will return to the practice field on November 3rd.

WR Muhsin Muhammad (Car) will start as expected this week opposite of Steve Smith after practicing on Friday.

WR Marty Booker (Chi) was limited in Friday's practice. He will be a game-time decision.

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (Cin) will miss another week with his injured hamstring.

WR Chris Cole (Den) practiced on Friday and will play as needed. WR Ed McCaffrey is a game-time decision, but is epected to miss another week. Rod Smith and Ashley Lelie remain the starters.

WR Charles Rogers (Det) is still out with his broken collarbone.

WR Jabar Gaffney (Hou) will be the team's emergency QB this weekend.

WR Troy Walters (Ind) practiced this week and will play as expected.

WR Derrius Thompson (Mia) practiced this week and will start opposite of Chris Chambers. James McKnight also will be on the field a lot.

WR Nate Burleson (Min) will remain as the team's starting WR despite the return of former starter D'Wayne Bates. Kelly Campbell will be the team's #3 WR. D'wayne Bates will be the team's 4th WR.

WR Troy Brown (NE) has been added to the team's injury report as doubtful with an undisclosed leg injury. He did not appear on the Wednesday or Friday injury reports. He will be a game-time decision, but is not expected to play. Deion Branch and David Patten are expected to start for the Patriots this week.

WR Joe Horn (NO) was limited in Friday's practice and will be a game-time decision this week. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. It should be noted though that Joe Horn is one of the league's toughest competitors and rarely misses games. We expect him to play.

WR Donte Stallworth (NO) practiced this week and is expected to return to the starting lineup this week. Jerome Pathon will also figure in the mix due to Joe Horn's injury.

WR Ron Dixon (NYG) practiced for two plays yesterday and "heard a clicking in his knee" according to head coach Jim Fassel. He could be done for the year.

WR Wayne Chrebet (NYJ) should play this weekend, but it could be in a limited role as his back is still very sore and vulnerable to injury.

WR Jerry Porter (Oak) practiced without contact this week and is expected to start opposite of Jerry Rice.

WR Reche Caldwell (SD) practiced on Friday and expects to play this week. He will likely reclaim the #3 WR spot in San Diego.

WR Terrell Owens (SF) practiced on Friday and will start as expected.

WR Tai Streets (SF) did not practice this week to rest his quadricep, but is expected to start.

WR Koren Robinson (Sea) was able to practice on Friday and will start this weekend.

WR Joe Jurevicius (TB) will be a game-time decision this week according to HC Jon Gruden. We expect him to play, but in a limited role.

WR Drew Bennett (Ten) will miss a 3-4 weeks with a strained calf. Justin McCareins will start in Bennett's spot, and Tyrone Calico will receive more snaps.

TE Todd Heap (Bal) practiced on Thursday and Friday and will start as expected.

TE Desmond Clark (Chi) was upgraded to probable on the recent injury report. He is expected to start as usual.

TE Reggie Kelly (Cin) will miss this weekend's game with his injured foot.

TE James Whalen (Dal) is expected to be a game-time decision as he is still bothered by his sore hamstring. we believe if he plays that it will be sparingly.

TE Shannon Sharpe (Den) missed Friday's practice with a sprained ankle, but is listed as probable on the injury report. He is expected to start as usual this week.

TE Dallas Clark (Ind) did not practice all week and is not expected to play. Marcus Pollard should see increased action as a result.

TE Christian Fauria (NE) will be a game-time decision this week. He has a sore leg that has made him limited in practices. Daniel Graham will start.

TE Teyo Johnson (Oak) has been named the team's starting TE for this weekend (over Doug Jolley), but both are expected to play significant snaps. Marcus Williams (Oak) has been released by the team.

TE LJ Smith (Phi) practiced on Friday and will split time with Chad Lewis this week.

TE Jay Riemersma (Pit) was unable to practice all week and is expected to miss this week's game.

TE Stephen Alexander (SD) is still out with his injured groin.

TE Justin Peele (SD) was able to practice on Friday and now may play this week. Josh Norman is expected to start.

TE Ricky Dudley (FA) will likely re-sign with the Buccaneers in November. Dudley reached an injury settlement with the club at the end of the preseason. Under league rules, he is eligible to return to Tampa Bay after the ninth week of the season, and there is still a stall in the Buccaneers locker room with his nameplate and number hanging over it. That's a pretty strong sign of the team's intent to bring Dudley back.

PK Tim Duncan (Ari) will start for the injured Bill Gramatica again this week.

PK Jose Cortez (Min) was released by the team to make room for Michael Bennett to be added to the active roster.

PK Matt Bryant (NYG) is still out with his injured hamstring.

PK David Akers (Phi) missed practice on Friday, but is expected to start as usual. He appears on the updated injury report as probable with turf toe.

PK Owen Pochman (SF) has been released by the team. Todd Peterson has been signed to kick for the 49ers.
