Baltimore Ravens

  • QB Anthony Wright will get another start this week after a shaky debut in Miami.
  • The Ravens are 3-1 at home this season. They outscored the opposition 86 to 53 in those four games.
  • The Ravens have the 9th best run defense (98.4 YPG) and the 3rd best pass defense (170.9 YPG)
  • The Ravens have given up 19.1 points per game. That is 14th best in the NFL.
  • The Ravens have thrown for more than 156 yards only once this season (against the Bengals)
  • RB Jamal Lewis is on pace to carry the ball 384 times on the season. He is also on pace to gain 1990 rushing yards.

Buffalo Bills

  • The Bills are 31st in the NFL in points scored. They are scoring only 15.9 PPG.
  • QB Drew Bledsoe has had three straight games with under 200 passing yards.

  • In his last five games, RB Anthony Thomas has carried the ball at least 21 times per game (118 carries through 5 weeks)
  • WR David Terrell is only averaging 6.4 yards per catch. You'll be hard-pressed to find another receiver who does less per touch than Terrell.

Cincinnati Bengals

  • The Bengals are 1-3 on the road this season (71 PF to 76 PA). They haven't lost by more than six points on the road this season.
  • The Bengals have the 11th worst run defense (121.4 YPG) and the 17th best pass defense (209.2 YPG)
  • The Bengals have given up 21.9 points per game. That is 15th worst in the NFL.
  • The Bengals have won four of the past five games. That is the first time since 1997 they have enjoyed that kind of success.
  • RB Rudi Johnson has carried the ball 65 times in the last two weeks and gained 347 yards (5.3 YPC)
  • Johnson has had three 100-yard rushing games in the past four weeks.
  • WR Peter Warrick is having a great season. He is on pace to catch 83 passes for 925 yards and score 8 receiving touchdowns.
  • WR Chad Johnson is one of the best in the game. He is on pace to catch 88 passes for 1410 yards and score 8 touchdowns.
  • QB Jon Kitna is having his best NFL season. He is on pace to throw for 3675 yards and 24 touchdowns and is completing 61.2% of his throws.

Cleveland Browns

  • The Browns are 2-3 at home this season (97 PF to 69 PA).
  • The Browns have the 14th worst run defense (117.3 YPG) and the 5th best pass defense (178.0 YPG)
  • The Browns have given up 17.7 points per game. That is 9th best in the NFL.
  • The Browns are 3-6 against the Steelers since rejoining the NFL back in 1999.
  • WR Andre Davis is becoming a legitimate starting receiver. He has 13 receptions for 188 yards in the last three weeks.
  • Last week against Arizona, QB Kelly Holcomb threw for 392 yards. His previous high for the season was only 222 passing yards.
  • QB Kelly Holcomb hasn't faced the Steelers during the regular season. He torched them last season in the playoffs for 429 passing yards.
  • RB James Jackson is quietly doing a good job for the Browns. He has 51 carries in the last three weeks for 182 yards and has scored 3 touchdowns.

Dallas Cowboys

  • In the past four games, the Cowboys have been shut out twice.
  • The Cowboys have won their last four home games (78 PF to 48 PA).
  • The Cowboys have the 2nd best run defense (83.1 YPG) and the best pass defense (154.8 YPG)
  • The Cowboys have given up 14.8 points per game. That is 2nd best in the NFL.
  • The Cowboys have only scored 31 points in the last four football games.
  • WR Terry Glenn has only caught 2 passes for 27 yards in the last two football games.
  • RB Troy Hambrick is struggling. He only has 74 yards in the last two games (on 29 carries) and has only eclipsed 75 yards once in the last seven games.
  • QB Quincy Carter is beginning to unravel. He only has 2 touchdown passes against 7 interceptions in the last four games.

Denver Broncos

  • The Lions haven't won in Minnesota since 1997 (5 straight losses)
  • The Lions top rushing performance this season in a game so far is only 73 yards by Shawn Bryson.

  • RB Tiki Barber continues to pile up yardage. He is on pace to gain 1935 total yards this season.

New York Jets

Oakland Raiders

  • The Raiders have the 3rd worst run defense (147.4 YPG) and the 9th worst pass defense (215.6 YPG)
  • The Raiders have given up 22.9 points per game. That is 11th worst in the NFL.
  • In the first eight games this season, the Raiders threw the ball 299 times and ran the ball 168 times.
  • In the last two games with Rick Mirer at quarterback, the Raiders threw the ball 38 times and ran the ball 95 times. That is a huge change in offensive philosophy.
  • QB Rick Mirer has done a nice job as the starter. He is completing 63.6% of his throws and has a solid 7.67 YPA.
  • In his first seven games this season, RB Tyrone Wheatley carried the ball 35 times for 137 yards and 1 score.

Philadelphia Eagles

  • The Eagles are 3-2 at home and have won their last three.
  • The Eagles have the 15th best run defense (112.7 YPG) and the 14th best pass defense (207.9 YPG)
  • The Eagles have given up 17.6 points per game. That is 8th best in the NFL.

    • Week Twelve - He seems to get hot on even numbered weeks.
  • Boston is on pace to catch 67 passes for 814 yards and score 5 touchdowns.
  • RB LaDainian Tomlinson is on pace to rush for 1554 yards on a very bad Chargers team.
  • Tomlinson has had five games this year with less than 65 yards rushing.
  • QB Doug Flutie fell back to earth last week. He only completed 9 of 25 passes and was 4 for 18 at one point in the game.

San Francisco 49ers

  • The 49ers have the 4th best run defense (86.9 YPG) and the 14th worst pass defense (210.1 YPG)
  • The 49ers have given up 16.6 points per game. That is 5th best in the NFL.
  • A big-time quarterback controversy is brewing in San Francisco between incumbent Jeff Garcia and upstart Tim Rattay. Here is the QB comparison:
    • Garcia has completed 129 of 235 passes (54.9%) for 1523 yards (6.48 YPA) and 8 touchdowns as well as 8 interceptions. His rating is 72.0
    • Rattay has completed 55 of 80 passes (68.8%) for 653 yards (8.16 YPA) and 6 touchdowns against only 1 interception. His rating is 113.2
  • RB Kevan Barlow has never had a 100-yard rushing game at the NFL level (42 games). Last week's 98 rushing yards was a career best.

Seattle Seahawks

  • The Seahawks are 1-3 on the road this season and have lost their last three.
  • The Seahawks have the 16th best run defense (114.5 YPG) and the 15th best pass defense (208.4 YPG)
  • The Seahawks have given up 18.8 points per game. That is 13th best in the NFL.
  • The Seahawks have four players with 32 or more receptions (receivers Darrell Jackson, Koren Robinson and Bobby Engram plus RB Shaun Alexander)
  • Shaun Alexander is Mr. Consistency. In the last seven weeks he has had at least 20 carries in every game. However his most carries in that stretch is only 22.
  • Alexander's high for rushing yardage this season is only 110 yards.
  • Alexander is on pace to rush for 1336 yards and score 16 touchdowns.
  • Last season Koren Robinson had five 100-yard receiving games. This year he has yet to hit that mark.
  • Darrell Jackson hasn't had a 100-yard receiving game since week two.

St. Louis Rams

  • The Rams are 2-3 on the road this season.
  • The Rams have the 13th best run defense (111.7 YPG) and the 8th best pass defense (180.9 YPG)
  • The Rams have given up 20.2 points per game. That is 15th best in the NFL.
  • QB Marc Bulger has thrown 2 interceptions in six of his nine games this season.
  • Bulger has a miserable 4.86 YPA over the last two weeks.
  • Bulger has only three touchdown passes and six interceptions in his last three starts.
  • RB Marshall Faulk rushed for 100-yards for the first time since week nine of the 2002 season.
  • WR Torry Holt has had six 100-yard receiving games this season and has scored at least one touchdown in eight of his ten games.
  • In his last two games against the Cardinals, Holt has caught 19 passes for 274 yards and scored twice.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • The Buccaneers are only 1-4 at home this season.
  • The Buccaneers have the 14th best run defense (112.7 YPG) and the 4th best pass defense (175.8 YPG)
  • The Buccaneers have given up 16.1 points per game. That is 4th best in the NFL.
  • The Buccaneers have lost three games in a row for the first time since the 2000 season.
  • QB Brad Johnson started hot this season but has cooled off over the last several games. Here is the comparison:
    • First Five Weeks: completed 125 of 190 passes (65.6%) for 1355 yards (7.1 YPA) with 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions
    • Last Five Weeks: completed 102 of 177 passes (57.6%) for 1139 yards (6.4 YPA) with 7 touchdowns and 8 interceptions
  • Last week, RB Thomas Jones had his first 100-yard rushing game since week two of 2002. That was his 2nd 100-yard rushing game of his career.
  • WR Keenan McCardell has already established his new career high in touchdown receptions with seven this season.
  • McCardell is on pace to catch 78 passes for 1197 yards and 11 touchdowns.
  • The de-activated WR Keyshawn Johnson had 30 passes thrown his way in the last three weeks. Those looks will go elsewhere. Jurevicius perhaps?

Tennessee Titans

  • The Titans are 3-2 on the road this season.
  • The Titans have the best run defense (78.8 YPG) and the 3rd worst pass defense (233.3 YPG)
  • The Titans have given up 17.7 points per game. That is 9th best in the NFL.
  • QB Steve McNair has only averaged 186 passing yards per game in his last four starts but has completed 64.9% of his throws and tossed 5 touchdowns.
  • RB Eddie George is on pace to rush for 894 yards on 302 carries. That is only 3.0 YPC.
  • Against Jacksonville last week, George averaged 3.7 YPC on 20 carries. That was his best YPC effort since last season.
  • Here is a weird stat. WR Derrick Mason only has one 100-yard receiving game this season. However he has six games with 98+ yards receiving.
  • Mason is on pace to catch 88 passes for 1261 yards. Those would both be career highs.
  • The Titans have only given up 61 points in their last five games and only 10 points in the last two games.

Washington Redskins

  • The Redskins are 1-4 on the road this season and have lost the last four.
  • The Redskins have the 10th worst run defense (126.8 YPG) and the 8th worst pass defense (221.1 YPG)
  • The Redskins have given up 23.2 points per game. That is 10th worst in the NFL.
  • RB Trung Canidate is gained the most rushing yards for the Redskins. He is only on pace for 555 yards this season though and hasn't scored a rushing TD yet.
  • In his last four games, QB Patrick Ramsey has only completed 47.2% of his throws (58 of 123) for 644 yards. He has thrown 7 touchdowns against 3 interceptions though.
  • Ramsey is on pace to throw 22 touchdown passes and only 14 interceptions. That is remarkable considering the poor pass blocking he is saddled with.
  • WR Rod Gardner has had six games with 3 or less receptions this season. He is on pace to catch 70 passes for 726 yards on the season.
  • WR Laveranues Coles has only had one good game (5 rec. for 125 yards and a TD in week ten) in his last seven outings.
  • Coles had 391 receiving yards in his first three games. In his last seven games he only has 427 receiving yards.
  • Coles has only managed to catch 13 of the last 34 passes thrown his way (38.2%)
