As many of you know, there is a group of Footballguys, myself included, that
take great pleasure in the use of statistical analysis as a means to succeed
in fantasy football. Traditionally, we do much of our work leading up to the
draft, using historical trends analysis and number crunching to help fine tune
our annual projections for players and teams. But statistical analysis can,
when used in conjunction with logical reasoning and sound football acumen, be
useful during the season, as well. With that in mind, I will attempt to address
some relevant in-season issues each and every week, with a statistical slant
of course
Second Annual Footballguys Trivia Contest
Those who read my column last year will recall that I offered a trivia contest
last season, testing you on some of the more esoteric statistical bits of football
and fantasy-related minutiae. This year, I've decided to broaden the appeal
by making this a bona fide contest; meaning that there are PRIZES
TO BE WON.
Here's the deal
- Each contestant is allowed ONE (1) entry; duplicate submissions will be
discarded.
- All entries must be submitted by email to [email protected], by midnight EST
on Wednesday, November 5th .
- I will select up to 3 winners from the submissions who answer all the questions
correctly. In the event that more than 3 people have perfect scores, the winners
will be determined by random drawing. In the event that no one gets all the
answers correctly, the winners will be determined by whichever 3 submissions
answer the most questions correctly.
- Winners will be announced on or before Wednesday, November 12th on the message
boards, the main site, AND will be notified by email.
- Winners may select from their choice of one
Footballguys t-shirt (from our merchandise section) OR a complimentary subscription
to the site for the 2004 season.
- Answers will be published on the site following the end of the contest.
- Good luck!
THE HINTS
- There are 32 questions, and there are 32 NFL franchise, that's no coincidence
- As always, a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to Doug Drinen at www.pro-football-reference.com
- Google is a very useful search tool
