Draft Dominator - Notes for this Release

Before updating to a new Draft Dominator, click File->Save->League to backup your existing league settings and scoring. Then after updating to the new Draft Dominator, click File->Open->League to restore your league settings and scoring.

This Draft Dominator update contains the latest Projections D1. If you have created your own projections and want to perserve them, check the Applications Forum on the Message Board before updating.

This is the last free version of this program. Updates and Enhancements (other than bug fixes) will be released in the subscribers area only.

Draft Dominator - Quick Start Guide

Choose File-Setup to enter your Scoring System, Team Names, Pick Order, and tweak the projections (if necessary).

Upon exiting the Setup screen, the Player Pool will fill automatically. Click Move Player to simulate a draft. Every time you press the Move Player button the Highlight Bar will default to the "Recommended" player based on team needs and VBD.

Choose Print-Cheat Sheets to print the Individual Position Cheatsheets and the Top 200.

Choose File-Save League to save a league. You can open the league at a later time with File-Open League. Saving a league will save all of the Setup information, along with the Player Pool, Keeper List, Draft Summary, Team Stats, and Team Information. This way you can pause a Draft and come back later and pick up where you left off. It also gives you the ability to set up everything before your draft.

Draft Dominator - Version 5.0c

• Bug Fix: The Draft Timer no longer starts counting down when you add a keeper.

Draft Dominator - Version 5.0 New Features

Strength of Schedule - it now incorporates Clayton Gray's Strength of Schedule. It has a separate tab for each position (QB, RB, WR, TE, PK, Def/ST). Each tab shows each of the NFL Teams, and their corresponding 17 week schedule in the traditional Strength of Schedule view.

Fantasy Football Schedule - for inputting your team's schedule. Input your fantasy opponents that you play each week. For Survivor type leagues you can enter "Avg. Points" for each week, and for Playoff games you can enter "Playoff". The Schedule is used in the new GameByGame projections screen described next.

GameByGame Projections screen - It uses the new Strength of Schedule and the new Fantasy Football Schedule, and distributes the player's fantasy points by week. For each week, it calculates your Team's Strength verses your Opponent's Strength. It then flags the games with a W if you are favored, a L if you your opponent is favored, or a ? if the game is too close to call. You can weight the weeks in an effort to strengthen some weeks (such as playoff weeks), or to concede other weeks where you might have several players on bye week or your opponent has an overwhelming majority. If you configured the week for "Avg. Points" it will calculate your Opponent's Team Strength, by calculating all of the other team's Strength and averaging it. If you configured the week for "Playoff", it will calculate the Team Strength for the top half of the other teams and take the average of that.

Player Weekly Distributions - distribute the yearly projections by week for each player. For example, last year we knew that Jimmy Smith was going to miss the first four weeks. The Player Weekly Distributions allow us to put a 0 in for the first for weeks, and then 1 for the remaining weeks. By doing this, his projected yearly fantasy points would then be distributed appropriately.

Adjustable Baselines - the baselines are now configurable. You can choose between Joe's Special and Worst Starter or create your own custom baseline. For custom baselines you can either select a "rank" for each of the positions, or input "Fantasy Points" for each positions.

Auction Values are now recalculated automatically based on who is picked and amount spent. The auction values are recalculated after every pick based on money spent and money left in the pool. If players are going above their auction amounts, it ratchets all of the other players down. Likewise if players are going for less than there auction amount, then it scales the remaining players up. You can turn on a Warning that will be displayed, if they try to overspend.

Minimum and Maximum Starters - you can now input the minimum and maximum starters for each position. The Best Value window now uses this information to fill out teams accordingly. You can turn on a Warning that will be displayed, if they try to select a player that would put them over the Maximum Starter requirements.

Wait Until X Players Taken - for example, if you set the Place Kickers value to 8, then it will wait until 8 kickers have been taken, before recommending one for you. This is useful for PK, TE, and Def/ST.

Quick buttons for setting the Draft Pick Order - on the Setup->Pick Order screen there are buttons for Straight, Serpentine, and Double Serpentine.

Sort buttons for the projections - on the Setup->Projections screen there are two buttons for sorting by Name and sorting by Fantasy Points.

Added the ability to edit player notes on the Projections Screen.

Draft Dominator - Version 5.0 Minor improvements

The Best Value window now recommends IDP players for IDP Leagues.

It now shows the version of projections being used on the Help About screen.

You can now select a player from the Best Value window by Double Clicking.

The player position colors are now configurable.

Keepers are now marked off the printed Cheatsheets. Likewise any players that have already been selected are marked off of the printed Cheatsheets.

Importing the VBD Spreadsheet now imports the Scoring system too. After importing the player projections, it prompts you to see if you want to import the Scoring system too.

You can now export the Draft Summary and Keeper List to CSV file.

The Best Value Need Multiplier calculations have been tweaked a little bit to correspond with the GameByGame projection Team Strength calculations.
