Offensive Upgrades

Upgrades

QB Michael Vick (Atl) - Not to anyone's surprise, Vick exploded this week with a 109 yard rushing effort that bolstered his 14 for 19 passing for 179 yards and a TD. He didn't make mistakes this week and he made big plays. Vick's running ability is the wild card and his allure, but as he improves as a passer and develops a rapport with Price, Jenkins, White and Crumpler (who is already his go-to receiver) he'll become even better. He's one of a few guys who can be number #1 any given week. We had him on the downgrade list last week as he seemed unwilling to run. This week he smashed the Rams with a good mix of running and passing.

QB Chad Pennington (NYJ) - Pennington is going to help a lot of owners this year if he throws 25 to 30 TDs and gets back to form and limits the interceptions to around 1 a game or less. He's got top 10 ability but this week finished around the top 5 with 258 yards, 2 TDs and no interception on 22 of 29 passing. The Chargers probably aren't the best comparison for tough passing matchups, but after two weeks he's looking awfully good with 482 yards, 4 TDs and no INTs which puts him solidly among most league's top five. It's early, but the play of Pennington and the Jets entire offense is encouraging to say the least.

QB Rich Gannon (Oak) - Not sure how long he's going to last, but Gannon looks good in Norv Turner's offense. The Raiders are having success with their young receivers (Porter, Gabriel, and Curry). Gannon is a strong leader and a great veteran for this team to have, but he does have Kerry Collins lurking as his backup. So if he goes down there is always the possibility he could not get his job back easily. He could be a top 10 QB if he and his surrounding talent stays healthy.

QB Aaron Brooks (NO) - Brooks basically did what was expected of him this week - He took advantage of a good matchup against the visiting 49ers who were without Mike Rumph. Brooks produced 3 TDs and 279 passing yards on 25 for 34 passing. Good enough to finish at the top of this week's rankings with 2 teams remaining. The Saints defense looks pretty soft so we can see Brooks involved in his share of shootouts. Is arm is likely to be utilized even more with the injury to Deuce McAllister.

QB David Carr (Hou) - Playing in Detroit for the first time, Carr handled the crowd noise pretty well despite coming up on the short end of the scoreboard. Carr didn't disappoint completely - completing 23 out of 34 passes for 313 yards with a pair of TDs and one interception. He hooked up with Andre Johnson on a 54 yard TD while finding Corey Bradford for 27 yards on the other. He was able to take advantage of the Lions injury-weakened secondary but we'll put it down as a sign of good things to come anyway. The Texans are certainly an offense on the rise.

QB Joey Harrington (Det) - Hooking up with rookie standout Roy Williams for two touchdowns, Harrington led the Lions to their 2nd straight win and their first 2-0 start since 2000. Lions fans aren't likely to get carried away though given the team's 1 playoff victory in modern history. Harrington has a ways to go, but he continues to show more signs of developing into a 25 TD QB potentially. Oh, and by the way, Roy Williams is the real deal. He's going to get ample opportunity to excel this year.

QB Jake Delhomme (Car) - 16/29 for 180 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs, borderline starter numbers for most leagues. Even without Steve Smith in the lineup, Delhomme directed the team to a win on the road at a tough place - Kansas City. He's a gritty player, and probably not a great fantasy starter many weeks, but if you pick your spots he can definitely has some value. After two weeks, Delhomme has 464 yards, 5 TDs and 3 INTs which ranks him 6th in fantasy points per game.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Vinny Testaverde (Dal) - It's hard to believe but Vinny is running the Cowboys offense good enough to warrant starting consideration in deeper leagues. He's equipped with three talented receivers and an emerging talent in Jason Witten at TE. Parcell's is no dummy and although he would love to establish a running game, his team has more talent in the passing department.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Kurt Warner (NYG) - A thumb's up to Warner, who won his first start in his last ten attempts over a span of a few years. Although we still seeing him losing his job later in the season to Eli Manning, Warner looked pretty good yesterday finishing with 232 passing yards and a TD.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pit) - Tommy Maddox injured his elbow (and is expected to be out at least 6 weeks) opening the door for Big Ben to log some immediate playing time against one of the league's most difficult defenses. Ben handled himself rather well despite getting picked off for a TD the other way. He rebounded and at least showed some poise and playmaking ability hooking up for several huge gains with Hines Ward.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Chris Simms (TB) - Well, that didn't take long. Brad Johnson was sidelined against the Seahawks allowing Simms to seize the opportunity and show his wares. His dynasty league owners have been waiting for this day, and Simms didn't disappoint throwing 32 times and completing 21 of them for 175 yards, though not finding the end zone and throwing a pick. The Bucs lost the game, too, but Simms didn't embarrass himself and many folks expect him to eventually emerge as the Bucs starter sooner or later this year anyway. Gruden has named Brad Johnson as this week's starter, but we think it is inevitable that Brad Johnson gives way to the younger Simms before long.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Patrick Ramsey (Was) - Mark Brunell pulled up lame with hamstring issues. Patrick did not look sharp, but he will start if Brunell can't go this week. All it takes is the opportunity sometimes.

RB Curtis Martin (NYJ) - The man, the myth, the legend. Martin is off to perhaps the best start of this career. Amazing, he's shaken off injuries the past couple years and turned back the clock and is punishing defenses so far. Having faced the Bengals and Jets, he's played subpar rush defenses, but it's hard to argue with his production. But that doesn't take anything away from his 315 yards rushing and 4 TDs in the first two games putting him right at the top of the RB rankings after 2 weeks. Martin was a ringer this week with 32 carries for 119 yards, not to mention 6 catches for another 25 yards - and 2 TDs on the day. CM is on fire. Ride him while he's hot.

RB Chris Brown (Ten) - The first drive of the game set the tone for Brown. Five carries for 40 yards including a 20 yard TD. Brown had over 100 yards by the half again and finished with 152 yards on 26 carries. The Titans line is playing well, Brown is running strong and good health providing - Brown is another young back on the rise who is capable of top 10 status if everything comes together.

RB Domanick Davis (Hou) - He fumbled twice, but still caught 11 passes and combined for over 173 yards touching the ball a combined 36 times. Amazing. He's nothing short of a dominant fantasy RB worthy of consideration as a legitimate #1 back, maybe one of the top 6 or 7 if you get points for catches. Tony Hollings sat out this week with an ailing knee, but Davis is cemented as the team's starter for the immediate future and is proving to be a force as a fantasy player racking up yards.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Derrick Blaylock (KC) could start for the Chiefs this week with Priest Holmes hampered with a sprained ankle. If it looks like Blaylock will indeed start. Expect this to one of the sought after players this week running behind the massive Chiefs' offensive line.

RB Thomas Jones (Chi) - Two weeks in a row marks the beginning of a trend, and potentially something special. Jones is beginning to live up to the Garrison Hearst comparison. He's hitting the hole, running between the tackles with quickness, and most importantly making big plays and getting in the end zone. He'll face tougher challenges ahead, especially if Grossman struggles. At this point, he's quickly becoming a top 10 back if he sustains anything close to this pace. It's also worth noting the Packers defense was exposed at home after a sound opening performance on the road for MNF. That doesn't bode well for the Packers.

*** Waiver Wire - DeShaun Foster (Car) - Stephen Davis is out for at least 4 more weeks so Foster will get the opportunity. He had 174 rushing yards and a TD (on 32 carries) this week which definitely making the most of his opportunity. If he continues to play great, Stephen Davis might have trouble wrestling the starting back when he is healthy.

RB Kevan Barlow (SF) - He doesn't need an upgrade really, but for those that were concerned after the first week, his 2nd week effort this year was more like his productive ending to 2003. Having Fred Beasley back seemed to make the world of difference. He's going to carry the load for the Niners and will be busy as a receiver, too. Barlow had a 60 yard run to open the game and finished with 114 yards on 20 carries with 2 TDs on the day. He left the game nicked, but is expected to start next week.

TJ Duckett (Atl) - Warrick Dunn was running well (and scored 2 TDs), but left the game with a sprained knee. Depending on the severity of the injury, TJ Duckett should get a few more looks in the coming weeks. Had this injury not happened, Dunn would be getting the upgrade and Duckett the downgrade. To Duckett's credit, he ran good in relief yesterday (52 yards on 9 carries).

*** Waiver Wire - Justin Griffith (Atl) - He is flying under the radar, but had 78 yards receiving and a score. He will also figure more in the mix if Dunn cannot go this week.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Aaron Stecker (NO) - McAllister is going to miss at least 4-5 weeks so expect Stecker to be a popular pick up on the waiver wire list this week. We've never been sold on him as an every down back, but he's very well suited to change-of-pace duty and perhaps as a 3rd down back. Ki-Jana Carter is also expected to be in the mix. Neither of these guys are all that sexy, but could provide some relief in larger leagues.

RB Corey Dillon (NE) - For the 2nd straight week Dillon has looked great running the football, this time going over 150 yards against the Cardinals. He's getting into the hole quickly, showing good vision and cutback instincts as well as his trademark power. He is not going to catch many passes though which limits his upside in 1 point per reception leagues.

RB Emmitt Smith (Ari) - Two TDs in two weeks. You could do worse. Denny Green believes in him and he is running hard. *** Waiver Wire - RB Eddie George (Dal) - I'm sure there are countless leagues where Eddie's owners bailed after week one. He's not exactly a hot prospect, but he should at least be added to improve your depth and ability to plug in bench players during the bye weeks and get something worthwhile. Julius Jones is lost for a good part of the season so Eddie should see more action.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Reshard Lee (Dal) - With Julius Jones out of the picture for at least 8 weeks, Reshard Lee could emerge as the Dallas RB this season. His YTD stats are 9 carries for 50 yards and a score. Eddie George will get the first opportunity to shine, but if you don't believe Eddie can get it done, this is probably the week to get Reshard Lee.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Chester Taylor (Bal) - Taylor is an elusive runner with a low-center and strong balance. He's proving to be everything the team hoped for and more as he's developed into a fine receiver out of the backfield and a great 2nd option for the Ravens. He exploded for 76 yards on 9 attempts this week with a 35 yard jaunt in that mix. He could be a great option for a stretch of a couple/few weeks if Lewis isn't able to play during the trial.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Verron Haynes (Pit) - Duce Staley is firmly entrenched as the team's starter and Jerome Bettis is the goal-line back for the time being, but Haynes gives the team a solid backup coming off the bench who can run the ball inside or outside fairly well and catch the ball out of the backfield giving the team a solid 3rd down option outside of Staley. Haynes would figure prominently in the event of a Staley injury, though Bettis certainly would get his fair share of carries as well. In deeper leagues, Haynes is worth stashing away, however if you own Staley you might have even more of a vested interest.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Josh Scobey (Ari) - Scobey might be worth stashing away on your roster as well. Troy Hambrick is a factor in terms of competition in backing up Emmitt, but Scobey displayed the knack for breaking a big play almost scoring on a 42 yard reception against the Patriots. I've never been particularly enthralled by Scobey, but he does have good speed and if you're even remotely interested in the Cardinals backfield as a potential source for points, Scobey is a sleeper who could emerge like Marcel Shipp a couple years back.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Dominic Rhodes (Ind) - Edgerrin James is doubtful this week and Rhodes is expected to carry the load. James Mungro will be his backup.

WR Donte Stallworth (NO) - Even if it was a good matchup, Stallworth came through with a big game and some big plays going over 100 yards, making a 45 yard catch and scoring on a 16 yard catch. The 49ers were without Mike Rumph and the Saints were able to take advantage with rookie Shawntae Spencer in the lineup. As long as Stallworth stays healthy, he's an explosive player you love to have in the lineup as a borderline 2nd/3rd WR.

WR Roy Williams (Det) - Williams broke through in a big way in just his 2nd start sparking the Lions offense connecting with Joey Harrington for 2 TDs and finishing with 4 catches for 73 yards. Roy Williams may have his ups and downs like most rookies, but his ability to potential be a dominant WR in the league is already apparent. His highlight reel one-handed catch a week ago was just scratching the surface as he showed getting into the end zone twice this week. With Charles Rogers sidelined for the year, Williams figures to be the Lions go-to receiver despite his rookie status.

WR Michael Clayton (TB) - We all knew this year boasted a tremendous rookie class of WRs and Clayton is right in the middle of the influx of talented rookies with strong fantasy potential - right away. He's already emerging as the potential go-to guy for Gruden's short-attack passing offense. He's a big target and not afraid to get dirty and block.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Reche Caldwell (SD) - Caldwell caught a TD pass for the 2nd straight week from Drew Brees and finished with 4 catches for 67 yards against the Jets. He was targeted frequently and is quickly moving from the sleeper stage to a good player worth adding for depth and groom as a potential starter in both re-draft and dynasty leagues. He's got decent speed, average size and finally a starting job and the opportunity to produce consistently. If he stays focused and keeps improving his route running, he could be a worthwhile player to have for the long haul.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Keary Colbert (Car) - With Steve Smith likely to miss most of the season with a broken fibula, Colbert appears well positioned to benefit as the new starter opposite Muhsin Muhammad. Most rookies are hard to depend on, but Colbert is poised and has done nothing but impress the coaching staff since joining the team. Long-term, he's going to have a fine career but expect some bumps and some breakouts during his rookie season. Ideally, he'd be a nice 4th/5th receiver but could probably amount to a good spot-starter for bye weeks or if you opt to play the match ups. He responded well in his first pro start catching a 9 yard TD pass in the 3rd quarter against the Chiefs.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Curtis Conway (SF) - Conway is a good veteran WR who has always possessed big play ability with good speed and decent size, but he's never been one to stay healthy for the long haul. Ironically, it was Cedrick Wilson's injury and pre-game scratch that opened the door for Conway to start - and he responded well with a 112 yard performance on 8 catches finishing the day easily as Ken Dorsey's favorite target. Now, this could be an aberration when Cedrick Wilson returns to the lineup.

WR Isaac Bruce (StL) - He has 17 catches for 214 yards and a TD in two games. The Rams abandoned the running game this past week and have shown a tendency to do that in the past too. Holt, now considered the #1 receiver on the Rams, is consistently locked up against the best cornerback (and often double coverage). With single coverage, Bruce is looking great this season.

WR Jimmy Smith (Jac) - The fact that he caught a long pass against Champ Bailey tells us that the Jaguars are going to throw to him regardless who covers him. Rookie WR Reggie Williams has not looked very sharp so the passing game will continue to go through Jimmy Smith for now.

WR Reggie Wayne (Ind) - Much like the Torry Holt situation in St. Louis, Marvin Harrison consistently draws the double teams. Reggie Wayne continues to improve his skills and now Peyton Manning is looking his way. The Colts have faced two tough defenses (Patriots and Titans), but the passing game looks on track to go well over 4,000 yards again. Reggie Wayne should be a big part of those yards.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Keary Colbert (Car) - He led all receivers in preseason yardage. With Steve Smith out, Colbert now starts. He had a solid first game as a starter. If you are going to pick him up on the waiver wire you need to do it now.

WR David Givens (NE) - The official word from the Patriots is that David Givens is not the starting WR (Deion Branch and David Patten are), but it is Givens who sits at #20 in fantasy points per game (above Patten at #21 and Branch at #31). Givens is being targeted in the redzone and has a chance to be the Patriots top WR this season.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Jonathan Carter (NYJ) - For the second straight week Carter hauled in a pass for 40 yards or longer. He's got tremendous speed but has never mastered the art of route running, having been primarily a "fly guy". As the Jets 3rd receiver he'll continue to see favorable matchups and should continue to get good playing time and opportunity as teams will undoubtedly be more concerned about Curtis Martin, Santana Moss and Justin McCareins.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Ronald Curry (Oak) - Last week it was Doug Gabriel who broke out of Jerry Rice's shadow to strike the Raiders opponents. This week it was Curry and his 89 yards on 5 catches including a 43 yard TD haul from Rich Gannon. Curry, like Gabriel last week, could be an aberration, but the two players are definitely being groomed for more playing time with eyes on starting jobs in 2005. Gabriel is a better deep threat while Curry could emerge as sort of a Hines Ward type. He's a former QB and stand-out Tar Heels point guard from the same playgrounds that produced Aaron Brooks, Michael Vick and Allen Iverson.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Charles Lee (TB) - Lee is once again getting an opportunity to earn his stripes. Last year he made the most of it, but this year he's been slowed by injuries, but with Keenan McCardell not in the picture and Joey Galloway and Joe Jurevicius both dealing with injuries, it's Lee, Tim Brown and rookie Michael Clayton getting the bulk of the playing time and targets. Lee has good size, average speed and has developed into a solid NFL receiver who knows the Bucs system. He's probably worth keeping on the short list of players you may pass on the waiver wire and hope to snag in another week, if you're lucky.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Ernest Wilford (Jac) - A dynasty player worth following, Wilford caught a TD in each of his first two catches in the NFL. He's blessed with great size, almost like a pass-catching TE, and he's already carving himself a niche as a favorite target of Leftwich in the red zone. He's got big soft hands, but only average speed. As he continues to learn how to use his body to shield defenders and the Jags utilize him in the red zone, he's a good player to stash in dynasty leagues or even potentially in 16 team or larger leagues.

TE Randy McMichael (Mia) - He is the number 1 option in the passing game this season with the injury to David Boston. He is as hot as they come.

TE Daniel Graham (NE) - Week two further reiterates what we have been saying all preseason. He has arrived. He could finish among the top 5 tight ends this season.

TE Eric Johnson (SF) - Johnson topped 60 yards for the 2nd straight week with 5 more catches. He's out to an incredibly fast start and ranks among the league's top 5 fantasy TEs in the early going.

TE Jason Witten (Dal) - Witten followed up his strong pre-season with a nice breakout this week against the Browns where he caught six passes for 82 yards. The Cowboys have quietly assembled talented players in the passing game.

TE Freddie Jones (Ari) - Jones looks like he could consistently be the teams option #1a in the passing game with a good tip of the hat to Larry Fitzgerald. Jones is an effective check-down receiver and safety valve for McCown, who seems to be on the run and scrambling quite a bit. Jones, meanwhile, produced 4 catches for 43 yards and looks like he will once again be a strong starting candidate this year.

*** Waive Wire - TE Erron Kinney (Ten) - Kinney produced with 6 receptions for 45 yards in week 2 against the Colts. The Titans have traditionally been a strong producer for the TE position and Kinney looks like he will continue that trend.

*** Waiver Wire - TE Chris Cooley (Was) - Having won the H-back job in training camp, the rookie is proving to be a quick study. He caught a 2 yd TD pass on a bootleg dump to open the scoring this week against the Giants and had 3 receptions for 14 yards on the afternoon. He's not likely going to develop into a big yardage producer, but he could catch 30 passes and a handful of TDs serving as a strong bye-week fill-in or emergency starter due to injury.

*** Waiver Wire - PK Neil Rackers (Ari) - He's been pretty shaky in the past, but he's on a little roll this year with the Cardinals. He nailed consecutive 51 and 52 yarders against the Patriots and might be worth a pickup for a bye week to replace your normal starter depending on who the Cardinals are playing.

*** Waiver Wire - PK Phil Dawson (Cle) - Always an afterthought, Dawson could be a decent source of points this year as the Browns defense has improved and they are showing signs of finally being able to run the ball effectively. Having the benefit of both is generally a good factor for creating field goal opportunities. We won't hold our breath, but he booted 4 FGs this week.

Def Seattle Seahawks (Sea) - They have only allowed 13 points in two contests on the road. This defense is definitely for real.

*** Waiver Wire - Def Atlanta Falcons (Atl) - This aggressive unit has 8 sacks and has allowed only 123 yards rushing after two weeks.

*** Waiver Wire - Def Oakland Raiders (Oak) - 7 sacks in a week has to put them on the radar. Ted Washington clogging up the middle is also making it difficult to run against this unit. They have given up just 480 total yards after two weeks.

*** Waiver Wire - Def Detroit Lions (Det) - The Lions defense and special teams have produced two big plays for TDs in as many weeks. They have assembled some decent prospects the past few years which has improved their overall team speed.

Developing trends and lessons learned

After two weeks it's becoming rather apparent the following teams are going to struggle to stuff the run. If your running backs are on a decent team and face these teams, upgrade their value and consider starting them over other starters with poor matchups.

Indianapolis - Two weeks in a row they've been pushed around (albeit by good offensive teams).

Green Bay - As long as Grady Jackson is out, they are vulnerable.

New Orleans - They faced 2 good backs and were beaten like a drum, expect better results with more experience

Kansas City - Quentin Griffin and DeShaun Foster wouldn't mind playing the Chiefs EVERY week

By the same token, the following teams appear to be well fortified against the run.

Jacksonville - This unit held the Broncos backs to 82 yards on 29 attempts. Shut down Travis Henry the previous week.

Baltimore - We are stating the obvious here, but they were beaten surprisingly in week one by the Browns

Buffalo - The Bills were strong against the run in '03, they look poised for another strong season

Washington - They shut down Tampa and now the NY Giants so far limiting Thunder & Lightning to 54 yds

Atlanta - Surprised? They limited Barlow in the opener and Faulk/Jackson to 15 attempts for 30 yards

Denver - They rebounded well after getting abused by Priest in the season opener. The Jaguars could muster only 67 yds rushing.

Aberrations

RB Amos Zereoue (Oak) - Famous Amos had a decent day getting the rock a good deal and producing 50+ yards. But don't get confused and bear in mind that Justin Fargas is currently limited from turf toe. You can bet once he's ready to go, that he'll get the bulk of the opportunities behind Ty Wheatley - and not Zereoue. However, he does give the team a good receiver out of the backfield and he could keep his foot in the door as part of a committee if he's a situational 3rd down back.

WR Corey Bradford (Hou) - Corey is a deep threat who disappoints more often than he delivers. There's a long line of these players, but Bradford and Quincy Morgan are the two biggest offenders that come to mind. In TD only leagues he's worth gambling on if the Texans have more favorable matchups, otherwise there are generally better options available in most leagues. This week he just happened to hit paydirt.

Downgrades

QB Drew Bledsoe (Buf) - I'd like to think it's going to get easier for Drew, but he's immobile and the Bills offensive line just isn't very good at pass protecting. They'll face the Patriots and Dolphins twice each. Enough said.

QB Tommy Maddox (Pit) - Maddox had a tough time against the Ravens defense, which shouldn't be much of a surprise, but he hurt his elbow on his throwing arm and is now out for 6 weeks. Big Ben filled in this week and looked pretty good - for a rookie. If Ben plays well in the coming weeks, you have to think Maddox doesn't get the job back even when he is healthy.

QB Mark Brunell (Was) made a lot of mistakes before pulling his hamstring. He may not be able to go this week and could get benched with more terrible play.

QB Trent Green (KC) - The Chiefs receivers are dropping like flies and it is showing in Trent Green's stats. He has a dismal 361 passing yards with no TDs (and 2 interceptions) in two games.

QB Brad Johnson (TB) - He got the hook in week 2. He has been named the starter in week 3, but is likely on a very quick hook.

QB Byron Leftwich (Jac) - His team has two wins, but it has a lot more to do with their great defense than his QB play. He has just 267 passing yards in 2 games. Now that is awful.

QB Jeff Garcia (Cle) - He scored a running TD in week which secured a great win, but looked overwhelmed this week against Dallas. He has just 251 passing yards in two weeks.

RB Warrick Dunn (Atl) sprained his left knee and did not return. It is not known yet if he will miss time. The fact that TJ Duckett and Justin Griffith played well in his absence also hurts Dunn's value despite scoring 2 TDs this week.

RB Julius Jones (Dal) suffered a broken left shoulder and is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks. The team could place him on injury reserve and end his season.

RB Edgerrin James (Ind) is doubtful this week with a second degree hamstring pull. This is unfortunate as James looked great the first two weeks running the ball.

RB Priest Holmes (KC) sat out the last 12 plays with a sprained ankle. He may not be able to go this Sunday.

RB Deuce McAllister (NO) is out for 5-6 weeks with a high-ankle sprain.

RB Marshall Faulk (StL) - The Rams again abandoned the run in this game and that philosophy will continue to limit the production Faulk can have.

RB Fred Taylor (Jac) is facing 8 people fronts as the Jaguars struggle to complete passes. He has just 115 yards and no TDs after 2 weeks.

RB Maurice Morris (Sea) has failed to do anything with his carries. He has just 12 yards on 7 carries.

RB Tyrone Wheatley (Oak) - All we can say is we told you so. He is not starter material and if he is Oakland's best then we would advise you to avoid all of them. The Raiders seen content in rotating in their 27 running backs and throwing more in this offense.

RB Jerome Bettis (Pit) - He scored three TDs last week, but did not even see the field this week. He has become Zack Crockett at best.

WR Eddie Kennison (KC) strained his hamstring and did not return. The Chiefs need him to play badly as their losses at this position continue to mount.

WR Plaxico Burress (Pit) - The Steelers passing game goes through Hines Ward. End of story. Burress also can't seem to shake good corners at all. After 2 weeks, he has just 3 catches for 43 yards and no TDs.

WR Marty Booker (Mia) - This team is struggling to get the ball to it's receivers. Marty also seems a bit confused in this offense. He has just 41 yards on 5 catches.

WR Brandon Lloyd (SF) - Despite 14 targets, he has just 36 yards receiving. Curtis Conway played well enough to likely start next week too.

WR David Terrell (Chi) - We had him on our upgrades list and loved what we saw after his huge week 1. So what did he do for an encore? No catches plus he lost 15 yards on a run. Ouch. He is likely going to be extremely inconsistent all year in this offense.

WR Denis Northcutt (Cle) - He has just 19 yards on 4 catches. It has gotten that bad for Cleveland's passing game.

WR Jerry Rice (Oak) has just 2 catches for 22 yards as the Raiders go with their youth movement.

WR Reggie Williams (Jac) may turn into a stud in this league, but he is struggling through the rookie blues right now.

WR Kelley Washington (Cin) has just 1 catch for 9 yards. He is a great athlete, but his inability to run correct routes is not affording him much playing time.

TE Todd Heap (BAL) sprained his right ankle and will likely miss 3-4 weeks.

TE Kellen Winslow (Cle) broke his leg and will be out 6-8 weeks.

TEs Jerramy Stevens and Itula Mili (Sea) have not seen much action in the early going. Combined they have 31 yards on 2 catches.

PK John Hall (Was) re-aggravated his hamstring. He subsequently missed his only FG try. Kickers with hurt hamstrings are not good combinations. He is a non-start until further notice.

PK Paul Edinger (Chi) - He is 0 for 2 in 2 games. We give him about another week to be working at the local Safeway
