Bye Week Notice: Remember that Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, and Seattle players are all on
byes this week.
Quarterbacks

the injured reserve list with a torn ACL.
QB Chad Hutchinson (Chi) has been signed by the team.
QB Jonathan Quinn (Chi) will start for the team in place of the injured
Grossman.

Favre.
QB Jay Fiedler (Mia) has been named the team's starting QB over the
struggling A.J. Feeley.

Rich Gannon. Obviously, Collins will be the hot QB waiver wire move for
this week. He could flourish in the Raiders vertical passing game.
QB Rich Gannon (Oak) will miss at least 8 weeks with a broken vertebra in
his neck. There is a possibility that Gannon could hit the injured
reserve list.

resume starting duties this weekend. Ken Dorsey will move back to the 2nd
string job.

Tuesday. He did not practice on Wednesday and could sit this weekend with
his bruised sternum. If McNair can't play, Billy Volek will get the
start. "But you never know with Steve," Volek said yesterday. "I am still
getting ready for Steve to come back, put his cape on like Superman, and
be ready to play. We'll see what happens."
Running Backs

RB Dee Brown (Cle) has been signed by the team.
RB Lee Suggs (Cle) has been cleared for full practice this week and said
he expects to play Sunday against the Redskins. "I know I can play," he
said. HC Butch Davis concurred. "The [medical staff] turned him loose and
he's 100 percent ready to go," Davis said. Suggs hopes he can be the shot
in the arm the offense needs. "We need something," he said. "Except for a
few times in the second half [against the Giants], the offense really
wasn't clicking." Suggs has been frustrated by sitting out the first
three games, but doesn't think the medical staff was being too cautious.
"I don't want to grow old and not be able to use my left arm," he said. "I
have to trust the doctors. They know what they're doing a whole lot more
than I do." He said doctors have been concerned he didn't have enough
strength to protect himself properly. "If I don't have enough strength in
my arm, it could lead to other things," he said.
