Quarterbacks

QB Peyton Manning (Ind) has won the Offensive Player of the Year award
for the 2004 season.

QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pit) says he expects to play in the team's
first playoff game.  In other news, Roethlisberger has won the
Offensive Rookie of the Year award for the 2004 season.  He was a
unanimous selection and becomes the first QB to win the award.

QB Drew Brees (SD) says he is interested in a long-term contract with
the team and does not want to sign a one-year deal.  If the Chargers
are not able to give him the long-term deal, Brees will try to find
another team willing to commit to him.  "I want a long-term commitment
from the Chargers, if not the Chargers, then from someone else," said
Brees.

QB Philip Rivers (SD) will reportedly not be traded by the team.  If
Rivers is still a Charger on March 10th, he will be given a $6.6
million bonus.



Running Backs

FB George Layne (Atl) has been placed on the injured reserve list with
a fractured jaw.

RB Kyle Johnson (Den) practiced on Wednesday but is questionable for
this weekend due to his injured ankle.

RB Najeh Davenport (GB) practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play
this weekend despite his injured shoulder.

FB Vonta Leach (GB) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to
play this weekend despite his injured ankle and shin.

RB Moe Williams (Min) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to
play this weekend despite his injured ankle.

RB Jerome Bettis (Pit) says he will be "110% ready" for the team's
first playoff game.

RB Jesse Chatman (SD) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to
play this weekend despite his injured toe.

RB Arlen Harris (StL) did not practice on Wednesday and is not
expected to play this weekend due to his injured hamstring.

RB Chris Brown (Ten) will soon have arthroscopic surgery on both
ankles.  HC Jeff Fisher described the upcoming surgeries as "minor".



Wide Receivers

WR Triandos Luke (Den) practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play
this weekend despite his concussion.

WR Robert Ferguson (GB) did not practice on Wednesday and is not
expected to play this weekend due to his head and neck injuries.

WR Brandon Stokley (Ind) practiced on Wednesday and is expected to
play this weekend despite his injured foot.

WR Troy Walters (Ind) practiced on Wednesday but is questionable for
this weekend due to his concussion.

WR Kelly Campbell (Min) did not practice on Wednesday and is
questionable for this weekend due to his injured shoulder.

WR Wayne Chrebet (NYJ) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected
to play this weekend despite his concussion.

WR Tim Dwight (SD) did not practice on Wednesday and is questionable
for this weekend due to his injured toe.

WR Keenan McCardell (SD) practiced on Wednesday but is questionable
for this weekend due to his injured hamstring.  Barring a setback, he
is expected to play.

WR Darrell Jackson (Sea) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected
to play this weekend despite his injured hamstring.

WR Koren Robinson (Sea) practiced with the 2nd team on Tuesday and
reportedly did not work on Wednesday due to soreness in his hip.  His
status for this weekend is unknown.  Be cautious of taking Robinson if
you are in a playoff league.

WR Jerheme Urban (Sea) will not play this weekend due to his injured foot.

WR Isaac Bruce (StL) practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play
this weekend despite his injured hip.



Tight Ends

TE Bubba Franks (GB) did not practice on Wednesday but is expected to
play this weekend despite his injured knee.

TE Dallas Clark (Ind) practiced on Wednesday and is expected to play
this weekend despite his head injury.

TE Marcus Pollard (Ind) practiced on Wednesday but is questionable for
this weekend due to his injured ankle.
