QB Peyton Manning (Ind) has won the Offensive Player of the Year award
for the 2004 season.
QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pit) says he expects to play in the team's
first playoff game. In other news, Roethlisberger has won the
Offensive Rookie of the Year award for the 2004 season. He was a
unanimous selection and becomes the first QB to win the award.
QB Drew Brees (SD) says he is interested in a long-term contract with
the team and does not want to sign a one-year deal. If the Chargers
are not able to give him the long-term deal, Brees will try to find
another team willing to commit to him. "I want a long-term commitment
from the Chargers, if not the Chargers, then from someone else," said
Brees.

Player of the Year award for the 2004 season.
QB Philip Rivers (SD) will reportedly not be traded by the team. If

*** THURSDAY UPDATE *** HC Pete Carroll (USC) is reportedly the main
target of the San Francisco 49ers as they search for a new HC. For
his part, Carroll has said that he is not interested in an NFL job.
"I can't imagine a formula where somebody could get me interested. At
SC, I have so much control and call every shot, and that's such a
difference to me," said Carroll. "I've seen the other side of it.
There aren't very many opportunities that have ever existed in the NFL
where you can do all of that the way you want to do everything.
That's why I'm not interested."
