QB Joey Harrington (Det) could possibly be released by the team later
next month according to Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com.  According to
Kowalski, team president Matt Millen wants to stick with Harrington,
but the offensive coaches want to cut ties and go in another
direction.  Harrington's contract calls for a $3 million roster bonus
this off season and almost $5 million in salary for the 2005 season.
However, the Lions organization says there is no truth to the report.

of confidence from team president Matt Millen and HC Steve Mariucci in
which they restated that they were not planning to release the QB this
off-season.

QB Quincy Carter (NYJ) was excused from Wednesday's practice for
