Arizona Cardinals (vs. New Orleans)

  • The Cardinals are 4-4 at home over the last eight games
  • The Cardinals last faced the Saints in the 2000 season (Cardinals lost 21 to 10)
  • The Cardinals are 25-57 since the 1999 season began (17 wins came at home)
  • WR Larry Fitzgerald leads the way with 26 targets in the first three weeks (14 receptions for 143 yards)
  • Fitzgerald has yet to score a touchdown
  • RB Emmitt Smith is currently ranked 20th overall at running back with 163 yards rushing on 47 carries (3.5 YPC)

  • The Patriots have four players with ten or more targets in two games (Branch, Givens, Graham and Patten)
  • In six games against the Bills, QB Tom Brady has thrown for 1164 yards, 11 touchdowns and 6 interceptions
  • Take away the week one disaster last year and Brady has thrown 11 touchdowns and 2 interceptions against the Bills

New Orleans Saints (@ Arizona)

  • WR Joe Horn is leading the way with 29 targets on the season while WR Donte’ Stallworth is right behind with 26 looks
  • Horn is ranked 7th with 21 receptions for 295 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season
  • Stallworth is ranked 18th with 17 receptions for 214 yards and 1 touchdown on the season
  • RB Aaron Stecker had a great game last week and is currently ranked 24th on the season (McAllister is buried at 53rd overall)
  • QB Aaron Brooks continues to be a great fantasy quarterback and is ranked 4th overall.  He has 818 passing yards and 5 touchdowns
  • TE Boo Williams has been near invisible with only 6 receptions for 47 yards


New York Giants (@ Green Bay)

  • The Giants have lost five straight road games
  • QB Kurt Warner is playing solid football.  He has thrown for 721 yards and 1 touchdown against 0 interceptions
  • RB Tiki Barber is still the man in New York.  He has rushed for 273 yards on 50 carries and caught 10 passes for 150 yards
  • The Giants have five players with 13+ targets (Toomer, Hilliard, Shockey, Barber, Carter)
  • WR Tim Carter is the Giants 2nd leading receiver with 10 receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown
  • TE Jeremy Shockey has caught 12 of the 18 passes thrown his way for 116 yards but has yet to score


New York Jets (@ Miami)

  • The Jets have lost three of the past four games to the Dolphins
  • Prior to 2003, the Jets won eight straight games against the Dolphins
  • The Jets lost all three road games to their divisional foes in 2003
  • The Jets were only 1-5 in divisional games a year ago but went 4-2 in 2002
  • RB Curtis Martin is on fire.  He has rushed for 315 yards, caught 9 passes and scored 4 times in only two games
  • QB Chad Pennington continues to be incredibly accurate with his passing.  He is completing 75% of his throws
  • In ten games against the Dolphins, Martin has carried the ball 181 times for 693 yards, caught 27 passes and scored 4 touchdowns
  • Martin has had only one 100-yard rushing game against the Dolphins in the past ten games
  • Martin hasn’t had a multiple-touchdown game against the Dolphins in the past ten games
  • Last year against the Dolphins, WR Santana Moss caught 12 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown in two games


Oakland Raiders (@ Houston)

  • The Raiders have now lost ten straight road games going back to 2002
  • This will be the first meeting between these two teams
  • WR Jerry Porter is clearly the go-to receiver for the Raiders.  He has twice as many targets (24) as his nearest teammate
  • Quarterbacks Rich Gannon and Kerry Collins have combined for 752 passing yards on the season
  • RB Tyrone Wheatley has rushed for 147 yards on 39 carries and scored 1 touchdown
  • WR Ronald Curry has been the most productive Raiders receiver with 7 receptions for 120 yards and 2 scores on the year
  • RB JR Redmond has caught seven passes on the season


Philadelphia Eagles (@ Chicago)

  • The Eagles have won seven straight road games
  • The Eagles are 13-4 on the road since the start of the 2002 season
  • The Eagles beat the Bears 19 to 13 in Chicago back during the 2002 season
  • QB Donovan McNabb is on pace to pass for 4965 yards, throw 43 touchdowns and score 11 rushing touchdowns. 
  • McNabb has been the fantasy MVP and NFL MVP to this point
  • What a difference WR Terrell Owens has made.  He has caught 18 passes for 254 yards and scored 5 touchdowns
  • Owens is on pace for 27 touchdown receptions.  Get ready to put on the ‘tights’ Mr. Andy Reid
  • RB Brian Westbrook has rushed for 232 yards, caught 15 passes but hasn’t scored yet
  • McNabb has faced the Bears twice in his career.  He has thrown for 416 yards and one touchdown in those games (also had a rushing touchdown)


Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. Cincinnati)

  • The Steelers have won three straight home games
  • The Steelers have lost the last two divisional games at home
  • The Steelers are 3-4 in the last seven divisional games
  • The Steelers have won six of the last eight games against the Bengals
  • In ten games against the Bengals, WR Hines Ward has caught 53 passes for 724 yards and scored six touchdowns
  • Ward has had two 100-yard receiving games against the Bengals
  • In seven games against the Bengals, WR Plaxico Burress has caught 38 passes for 527 yards and scored twice
  • Burress has had three 100-yard receiving games against the Bengals

San Diego Chargers (vs. Tennessee)

  • The Chargers are 2-9 in their last eleven home games
  • The Chargers have only won once in their past four home games (Raiders in week seventeen last year)
  • The Chargers last faced the Titans in 1998 when the Titans were still the Oilers (Chargers won 13-7)
  • WR Reche Caldwell has clearly emerged as the go-to receiver.  He has 11 receptions (20 targets) for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns
  • TE Antonio Gates has caught 16 passes on the season but hasn’t found the endzone yet
  • RB LaDainian Tomlinson has rushed for 268 yards but is only averaging 4.0 yards per carry
  • Tomlinson has only caught nine passes so far this season
  • QB Drew Brees has played better than anticipated but he has only thrown for 476 yards on the season and tossed three touchdowns


San Francisco 49ers (vs. St. Louis)

  • The 49ers have lost their last two home games but won the previous five before that
  • The 49ers are 11-6 at home since the start of the 2002 season
  • The 49ers have won the last two games against the Rams in San Francisco (by a combined score of 67-23)
  • The 49ers are 5-1 at home in divisional games over the last two years
  • WR Curtis Conway is leading the way with 27 targets on the year (He has caught 13 for 150 yards)
  • WR Brandon Lloyd has been a major bust to this point.  14 targets, 5 receptions and 36 yards is not what fantasy owners were hoping for
  • Where art thou?  Rookie WR Rashaun Woods has been targeted five times on the year but has yet to catch a pass
  • WR Cedrick Wilson has caught 13 of the 18 passes thrown his way in two games and scored a touchdown
  • QB Ken Dorsey is looking every bit the inexperienced quarterback he is.  No TD passes and 3 interceptions on the year
  • RB Kevan Barlow hasn’t been great but he is ranked 18th at the position.  He has 212 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the year
  • In six games against the Rams, Barlow has carried the ball 63 times for 327 yards (5.2 YPC) and scored twice
  • The 49ers haven’t passed for more than 300 yards against the Rams in the last five seasons

  • RB Clinton Portis has rushed for 311 yards on 72 carries, caught 9 passes and scored twice
