Arizona Cardinals (@ San Francisco)

  • The Cardinals are 10-15 lifetime against the 49ers
  • The Cardinals have lost eight straight meetings to the 49ers in San Francisco.  The last victory was in 1978 when the St. Louis Cardinals won 16-10
  • The Cardinals have now lost 15 straight games on the road.
  • RB Emmitt Smith has faced the 49ers four times in the last five seasons.  He has rushed for 238 yards on 60 carries and scored 3 touchdowns
  • Smith is on pace to carry the ball 272 times for 1,160 yards and 12 touchdowns
  • The Cardinals quarterbacks still haven’t thrown a touchdown pass through the first four weeks (108 attempts)
  • Emmitt Smith on the other hand has one touchdown pass on one attempt (a 21-yard touchdown pass)

  • The leading tackler for the Panthers is LB Dan Morgan with 31 tackles

Cleveland Browns (@ Pittsburgh)

  • The Browns have won just once in the last seven road games

  • RB Jonathon Wells has been solid in relief of Domanick Davis.  He has averaged 3.9 YPC on 37 carries and scored a touchdown
  • WR Andre Johnson is on pace to catch 68 receptions for 1,420 yards and score 8 touchdowns
  • The Texans have 7 sacks and 5 interceptions on the season

Indianapolis Colts (vs. Oakland)

  •  The Colts are 3-8 lifetime against the Raiders
  • The Raiders beat the Colts in Indianapolis back in 2001
  • The Colts have won three straight games after the week one loss to the Patriots
  • The Colts have only won two of their last four games at home

  • The Steelers are 48-55 lifetime against the Bengals
  • The Steelers have won five of their last six home games
  • Rookie QB Ben Roethlisberger is playing very good football.  He is completing 61.2% of his throws and has 4 touchdowns against 3 interceptions
  • RB Duce Staley is on pace for 1,488 rushing yards this season but has only caught 2 passes and hasn’t scored thanks to the vulturing by Jerome Bettis
  • Speaking of Bettis, He has now rushed for 22 yards on 18 carries but has scored 5 touchdowns
  • WR Hines Ward is on pace to catch 112 passes for 1,576 yards and score 8 touchdowns
  • WR Plaxico Burress is on pace to catch 36 passes for 704 yards and score 0 touchdowns

  • WR Reche Caldwell is on pace to catch 56 passes for 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns

San Francisco 49ers (vs. Arizona)

  • The 49ers haven’t started a year 0-5 since the 1979 season (Bill Walsh’s first with the team)
  • In the last two home meetings against the Cardinals, the 49ers scored 88 points and gave up 42
  • The 49ers lost only two home games all of last season (have already lost two this season)
