Arizona Cardinals (@ Buffalo)

  • The Cardinals are 3-4 lifetime against the Bills
  • QB Josh McCown has tossed four touchdown passes in the last two games
  • McCown has hit 200+ yards passing in each of the last two weeks after failing to hit that mark in the first four games
  • RB Emmitt Smith has had two 100-yard rushing games this season
  • Smith has scored a touchdown in five of the six games this season
  • Smith is on pace for 1,224 rushing yards this season which would be his most since the 1999 season when he rushed for 1397 yards
  • Smith is on pace to score 13 rushing touchdowns which would be his most since the 1998 season
  • Smith has now scored 171 touchdowns in his illustrious career which puts him 2nd all-time to WR Jerry Rice (204)
  • WR Bryant Johnson has caught 3 or more passes in five of the six games this season
  • Johnson has never had a 100-yard receiving game in the NFL
  • WR Larry Fitzgerald has scored a touchdown in each of the last two games
  • K Neil Rackers is 5 out of 6 from 50+ yards this season
  • The Cardinals have allowed 17 points or less in four of the six games this season

Atlanta Falcons (@ Denver)

  • The Falcons are 3-7 lifetime against the Broncos
  • QB Michael Vick has only passed for 200+ yards once in the last twelve games
  • In three road games this season, Vick has completed 30 of his 61 passes for only 440 yards and 1 touchdown pass
  • The Falcons defense allowed 8 rushing touchdowns against the Chiefs last week.  That is an NFL record of futility
  • The only receiver reaching expectations is TE Alge Crumpler who is on pace for 811 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns
  • WR Peerless Price is on pace to catch 43 passes for 663 yards and no touchdowns
  • RB Warrick Dunn is averaging 3.9 yards per carry while RB TJ Duckett is averaging 4.5 yards per carry
  • Dunn has only had 16 combined carries for 62 rushing yards in the last two games
  • Duckett only managed a weak 8 yards on 4 carries against the Chiefs last week
  • It has been eighteen games since Price was able to reach 100-yards receiving

Baltimore Ravens (@ Philadelphia)

  •  The Ravens are Eagles have played only once.  It ended in a tie (10 to 10)
  • QB Kyle Boller is on pace for * drumroll please *, a whopping 1963 passing yards and 5 passing touchdowns this season
  • The Ravens have given up only 85 points on the season.  That is 2nd best in football
  • Chester Taylor is averaging a strong 5.2 yards per carry on the season
  • Taylor rushed for 89 yards on 21 carries against the Bills defense last week
  • WR Randy Hymes has only caught 3 passes for 37 yards in the last two games

Buffalo Bills (vs. Arizona)

  • The Bills are 4-3 lifetime against the Cardinals
  • The Bills have yet to score more than 20 points this season
  • Is the Travis Henry epoch over?  The running back is averaging only 3.4 yards per carry and hasn’t scored a touchdown
  • RB Willis McGahee is averaging 3.9 yards per carry
  • In the last two games, McGahee has carried the ball 42 times for 169 yards
  • In the last two games, Henry has carried the ball 19 times for 60 yards
  • The Bills still haven’t rushed for a touchdown in 2004
  • Eric Moulds has 37 receptions this season.  The next closest player has only ten (rookie WR Lee Evans)
  • Moulds is on pace to catch 99 passes for 1309 yards and score 5 touchdowns
  • In QB Drew Bledsoe’s first season with the Bills, he had seven 300-yard passing games.  He hasn’t reached that number in the last twenty games
  • In his first thirteen games with the Bills, Bledsoe threw 23 touchdown passes (1.77 per game)

Carolina Panthers (@ Seattle)
  • The Panthers beat the Seahawks 26 to 3 in the only meeting between these teams
  • What a difference one year can make.  QB Jake Delhomme has tossed only 2 touchdowns and thrown 7 interceptions in the last four games
  • Delhomme is on pace to toss 27 interceptions this season
  • Rookie receiver Keary Colbert is leading the team with 311 receiving yards this season and a pair of scores
  • Colbert caught a career-high 7 passes last week against the Chargers
  • In the last three games, WR Muhsin Muhammad has caught only 10 passes for 85 yards and a score
  • The Panthers have scored 17 points or less in all but one game this season and the 83 points scored ranks them 2nd last in the NFL

Chicago Bears (vs. San Francisco)

  •  The Bears are 26-30-1 lifetime against the 49ers
  • The Bears have only scored 85 points this season (30 of those were a result of RB Thomas Jones’ five rushing touchdowns)
  • The QB combination of Craig Krenzel and Jonathon Quinn have completed 52.1% of their throws, have a terrible YPA of 4.13 and have accounted for 26 points in three games
  • Defenses are keying on RB Thomas Jones and he has only gained 181 yards in the last three games and scored a single touchdown
  • Jones is ranked 9th at the running back position in terms of fantasy production
  • WR David Terrell is the most unpredictable receiver in the NFL.  In two games he has reached the 100-yard mark and in the other four games, he has caught 3 total passes for a meager 35 yards
  • His picture may still be in the side of milk cartons but at least there was a WR Justin Gage sighting this weekend.  He caught 4 passes for 43 yards
  • The tight end position has accounted for only 14 receptions on the year

Cincinnati Bengals (@ Tennessee)
  • The Bengals are 30-37-1 against the Titans/Oilers franchise
  • QB Carson Palmer has had one touchdown pass in each of the last three games
  • Palmer has had more touchdowns than interceptions only once this season.  That was the week one game against the Jets
  • The Bengals have lost all three road games this season and five straight dating back to last season
  • RB Rudi Johnson has two 100-yard rushing games in the last three games with a touchdown run in each of those two contests
  • WR Chad Johnson has one 100-yard receiving game this season but twice has hit the 99-yard mark
  • QB Carson Palmer is ranked 8th in pass attempts this season
  • RB Rudi Johnson has the 8th most carries in the NFL this year
  • Rudi Johnson is the 18th ranked fantasy RB so far in 2004
  • Chad Johnson is currently the 20th ranked fantasy WR this season

Dallas Cowboys (vs. Detroit)

  • These two teams have played 18 times with both teams winning nine games apiece
  • QB Vinny Testaverde has had one touchdown pass in each of the six games this season for a total of six on the year
  • Testaverde is currently the 15th rated quarterback in fantasy football
  • The Cowboys haven’t scored more than 21 points in a game this season

  • The Juggernaut known as Priest Holmes continues to amaze.  The gifted running back is on pace to rush for 1,840 yards and score 29 touchdowns
  • Holmes has scored a staggering 62 touchdowns in his last thirty-six games
  • Holmes has rushed for at least 125 yards in four of the six games this season
  • WR Johnnie Morton is the Chiefs leading receiver with 28 receptions and 384 yards but hasn’t scored a touchdown yet
  • RB Priest Holmes has faced the Colts only once in the last five seasons (in 2001) and rushed for 55 yards on 15 carries without scoring

Miami Dolphins (@ New York Jets)

  • The Dolphins are 38-39-1 lifetime against the Jets
  • The Dolphins scored 31 points last week against the Rams which was 18 points higher than in any other game this season
  • RB Sammy Morris has given the Dolphins some semblance of a rushing attack with 174 rushing yards in the last two weeks (on 46 carries)
  • Morris has never had a 100-yard rushing game since entering the NFL back in 2000
  • WR Chris Chambers had his first 100-yard receiving game of the season last week
  • Chambers has had four 100-yard receiving games in his last 32 games
  • In six games against the Jets, QB Jay Fiedler has had one 300-yard passing game, one multiple-touchdown game, three games with under 200 yards passing and three games with multiple-interceptions
  • Last year against the Jets, Chambers had 13 receptions for 244 yards and a touchdown in the two games

Minnesota Vikings (vs. New York Giants)

  • The Vikings are 10-8 lifetime against the Giants
  • QB Daunte Culpepper continues to amaze.  After six games he…
    - Has a sizzling 73.3% completion percentage (The NFL record is 70.6% back in 1982 by QB Ken Anderson, Bengals)
    - Is on pace to throw 51 touchdowns
    - Is on pace to finish with 5,197 passing yards
    - Is on pace to finish with only 8 interceptions
  • WR Randy Moss was unable to catch a pass in last week’s game for the first time in his career
  • Moss has only had one 100-yard receiving game this season
  • WR Nate Burleson is only 19 receiving yards behind Moss (394 to 375)
  • RB Mewelde Moore is averaging a sizzling 6.2 yards per carry
  • Since taking over as the starting tailback, Moore has rushed for 339 yards and has added 198 receiving yards
  • Moore is already the 25th ranked running back in fantasy football despite only three starts
  • Amazingly, the Vikings running backs have collectively only scored a single rushing touchdown
  • The Vikings running backs have accounted for 45 receptions on the season

New England Patriots (@ Pittsburgh)

  • The Patriots are 6-12 lifetime against the Steelers
  • The Patriots haven’t lost a game in the last 21 contests
  • The Patriots have won thirteen straight home games
  • QB Tom Brady has thrown a touchdown pass in nine straight regular season games
  • Brady has passed for 200+ yards in five of the six games this season
  • Brady is the 12th ranked fantasy quarterback this season
  • RB Corey Dillon has had three 100-yard rushing games as a Patriot
  • Dillon is on pace to rush for 1,699 yards this year
  • Dillon is the 14th ranked fantasy running back
  • The most productive receiver to this point has been David Patten.  He has 20 receptions for 357 yards and 4 scores
  • 5 of TE Daniel Graham’s 18 receptions have gone for touchdowns

New York Giants (@ Minnesota)

  • Warner has thrown for 200+ yards in five of the six games and barely missed that mark in his sixth
  • Warner hasn’t had a multiple-passing touchdown game since week twelve of 2002
  • In four straight games, RB Tiki Barber has carried the ball 22, 22, 22 and 21 times (for a total of 480 yards and 4 touchdowns)
  • WR Amani Toomer hasn’t scored a touchdown yet in 2004 and is on pace to finish with less than 1,000 yards receiving for the first time since 1998 (989 projected receiving yards)
  • TE Jeremy Shockey has only scored 6 touchdowns as a pro

New York Jets (vs. Miami)

  • The Jets are 39-38-1 lifetime against the Dolphins
  • QB Chad Pennington is completing 69.2 % of his throws
  • Pennington has failed to throw a touchdown pass in three of the six games this season and six times in the last ten games
  • Pennington has thrown 42 touchdown passes and only 20 interceptions in the NFL
  • Pennington is the 16th ranked fantasy quarterback thus far in 2004
  • RB Curtis Martin is still on pace to score 19 touchdowns
  • Martin hasn’t rushed for less than 70 yards in a game this season and has reached the 100-yard mark in four of the six games

  • The Jets receivers have caught only 52 of the 126 completions

Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Baltimore)

  • QB Donovan McNabb is averaging 292.2 passing yards per game and his completion pct. (65.7%) is 7.9% above his lifetime mark of 57.8%
  • McNabb has had two 4-passing touchdown games already this season (week one against the Giants and week seven against the Browns)
  • McNabb has thrown for at least 330 yards in three of the six games this year
  • RB Brian Westbrook has been ruled out for this weekend’s game
  • Westbrook has had 13 or fewer carries in four of the six games this season
  • WR Terrell Owens has caught at least one touchdown pass in five of the six games this year
  • Owens is on pace to haul in 21 touchdown passes
  • Owens has had four straight 100-yard receiving games
  • The TE position has combined for 32 receptions, 326 yards and 5 touchdowns

Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. New England)

  • The Steelers have won 12 of the 18 meetings between these two teams
  • The Steelers have never started 6-1 under coach Bill Cowher (Last time was in 1978’s 14-2 Super Bowl season)
  • Is QB Ben Roethlisberger really a rookie?  He is completing 69.0% of his passes and has 7 touchdown passes against 4 interceptions
  • All five games have been very similar for Roethlisberger.  He has thrown for 176, 163, 174, 231 and 193 yards during that stretch
  • Roethlisberger has thrown at least one touchdown in all five games
  • RB Jerome Bettis has a 1.7 YPC average, 37 carries and 7 touchdowns on the year

San Diego Chargers (vs. Oakland)

  • TE Antonio Gates is the leading fantasy tight end in 2004.  He is on pace to catch 101 passes this season

San Francisco 49ers (@ Chicago)

  • The 49ers are 30-26-1 lifetime against the Bears
  • QB Tim Rattay is putting up big numbers.  He has averaged 294.3 yards per game and has thrown 7 touchdowns in those 4 games
  • Rattay is averaging 41 passing attempts per game
  • In his last four games, RB Kevan Barlow has carried the ball 60 times for 177 yards (3.0 YPC) and scored only one touchdown
  • WR Cedrick Wilson has caught 3+ passes in every game he has played in this season
  • Wilson has never reached the 100-yard mark
  • After a terrible start, WR Brandon Lloyd has rebounded with 11 receptions for 149 yards and 2 scores in the last two games

  • The Seahawks are 0-1 lifetime against the Panthers
  • The Seahawks have lost three straight games for the first time since the first three weeks of 2002
  • QB Matt Hasselbeck is really struggling.  He is completing only 53.6% of his passes and has thrown 1 touchdown pass against 6 interceptions in the last two weeks
  • RB Shaun Alexander has only carried the ball 28 times combined in the last two games.  He needs to average 20+ carries per game for the Seahawks to succeed
  • Alexander has two 100-yard rushing games this season
  • Seahawks’ receivers have only caught 3 touchdown passes on the season
  • WR Darrell Jackson has caught 5+ passes in all but one game this year and has had 90+ yards receiving in four of the games
  • WR Koren Robinson has had one great game this year (9r 150 yards) and has been mediocre in the other five (15 receptions for 204 yards)

Tennessee Titans (vs. Cincinnati)

  • The Titans (Oilers) are 37-30-1 lifetime against the Bengals
  • QB Steve McNair is listed as questionable this week and there is a real possibility he will miss the next couple of weeks to rest his bruised sternum
  • RB Chris Brown has turf toe and is listed as questionable this week
  • The Titans are 1-5 in the last six games
  • Both quarterbacks (McNair, Billy Volek) have struggled.  They are averaging only 5.59 yards per attempt and have thrown only 6 touchdowns against 9 interceptions
  • RB Chris Brown is the 8th best back in fantasy football this season
  • Brown started hot but has only rushed for 107 yards on 27 carries and no touchdowns in the last two weeks
  • WR Derrick Mason has caught 29 passes in the last four weeks.  He is on pace to haul in 101 receptions
  • Mason has only had one 100-yard receiving game this season

Washington Redskins (vs. Green Bay)

  • The Redskins are 13-15-1 lifetime against the Packers
  • The Redskins have yet to score 20 points in a game this season
  • QB Mark Brunell has been awful.  He is completing only 51.2% of his throws and has a YPA of only 5.4
  • WR Laveranues Coles has been a disappointment.  He has caught 31 passes but only for 368 yards and no touchdowns
  • Coles only caught 7 passes for 77 yards in the last two weeks
  • In week three, WR Rod Gardner went nuts with 10 receptions for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Since then he has caught 6 passes for a whopping 48 yards
  • RB Clinton Portis is the 10th best back in fantasy football this season
  • Portis has carried the ball 20+ times in every game this season and is on pace to finish with 408 carries on the season.  He has only scored three times
