Monday Injury Report - Week 11

Hi Folks,

As always, here's the comprehensive Injury Wrap Up covering all the week 10 injuries.

One surprising note to add is that the Associated Press is reporting Chicago LB Brian Urlacher will be out 4-6 weeks. This one is still very murky as for details but here is exactly what the AP is saying:

"Chicago Bears Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher will miss four to six weeks with a lower left leg injury sustained in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Urlacher, who missed all of the preseason and two regular-season games with a hamstring problem, had a surgical procedure done early Monday morning on his leg, coach Lovie Smith said.

There was some internal bleeding in the area of the injury, Smith said. He said Urlacher would not be put on injured reserve."

We'll have more for you on this one as it's available.

Here's the rest of the run down from around the league. Hope you're doing better than these guys.

Joe

Quarterbacks

Arizona's Josh McCown took a strong blow that snapped his head into the turf on Sunday (from Giant Gibril Wilson), and the hit was still causing problems after the game (McCown was reportedly "woozy" at the end of the game). He'll be evaluated further as the week goes along.

Buffalo's J.P. Losman completed his comeback from a broken leg as he saw some game-time vs. New England Sunday night (1/2 for 5 yards, 0 TDs and 1 interception, with a fumble lost to boot).

Jacksonville's Byron Leftwich missed the game on Sunday, as expected (knee, out on Friday).

Miami's injured QB Jay Fiedler will not have his starting job when he heals from his neck stinger, the team's new coach announced today. A.J. Feeley has been declared the starter, and it looks like interim coach Jim Bates is intending to stick with Feeley ""We plan on A.J. playing well and playing well throughout."

Minnesota's Daunte Culpepper bruised his knee in the game on Sunday, but returned to action - the injury does not appear serious at this time.

New York Jets' Chad Pennington missed the game on Sunday, as expected (shoulder, out on Friday's injury report).

Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck suffered a "charley horse" on the first play of the game on Sunday, and played very poorly throughout the contest (although his receivers continue to contribute to the problem by dropping catchable balls).

Tampa Bay's Brian Griese was bruised in several places after taking 7 sacks (and a lot of other hits) in the game vs. the Falcons. The team did not report a major injury to their QB, though.

Tennessee's Steve McNair was active for the game on Sunday, but did not play due to his bruised sternum (coaches' decision). Billy Volek played well substituting for McNair, but Tennessee lost the game when Volek was sacked in the endzone for a safety during the OT period.

Running Backs

Carolina's Stephen Davis missed the game on Sunday due to his injured knee, as expected (out on Friday's injury report). He has been placed on IR, and is expected to have another surgery on his ailing knee in the near future. Fellow RB Joey Harris was inactive due to his bad hamstring.

Chicago's Thomas Jones was inactive on Sunday due to his injured toe (questionable on Friday's injury report).

Cincinnati's Chris Perry (abdomen, doubtful) missed the game on Sunday due to his injury.

Green Bay's Ahman Green suffered a bruised knee cap during the game on Sunday, but returned to action (21/145/0 rushing). Fellow RB Najeh Davenport injured his hamstring during the game, and will be evaluated further as the week goes along.

Houston's Tony Hollings (hamstring, out) missed the game on Sunday due to his lingering injury. Hollings has been struggling to rehab his hamstring for several weeks.

Jacksonville's Fred Taylor left the game on Sunday briefly due to leg cramps, but returned to action and finished the game with 23/144/0 rushing.

KC RB Priest Holmes missed the game on Sunday, due to his injured knee (doubtful on Friday's injury report). Derrick Blaylock played and was very effective in relief of Holmes.

Minnesota's Mewelde Moore missed the game on Sunday due to his injured ankle (questionable on Friday's injury report).

Buffalo's Josh Reed missed the game on Sunday due to his injured knee (doubtful on Friday).

Detroit's Tai Streets was inactive on Sunday due to his hamstring injury (questionable on Friday). Az-Zahir Hakim was forced out of the game when his sore back flared up. Roy Williams was limited due to his injured ankle - the Lions' receiving corps is really banged up right now.

Green Bay's Robert Ferguson injured his shoulder on Sunday, but returned to action. He only managed 1/2/0 during the game, though - he will be evaluated further as the week goes along. Right now the injury is described as a dislocated shoulder.

Indianapolis' WRs Troy Walters (broken arm, out on Friday's injury report) and Brad Pyatt (thigh, probable on Friday) were both inactive for the game on Sunday.

Minnesota's Randy Moss missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hamstring, as expected (out on Friday's injury report). On Monday Coach Tice indicated that Moss' return to the lineup was most likely to occur on Nov. 28th - he's doubtful to play this week vs. Detroit.

New York Giants' Amani Toomer left the game on Sunday after a hard hit (his helmet was knocked off), but returned 2 plays later.

San Francisco's Kevan Barlow played a strong half of football (60 yards and 2 TDs rushing in the first half), but then got stuffed, injured, and finally benched during the 49ers second half (-15 yards rushing and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the second half). He has left shoulder and hip injuries of an unspecified severity - but the bigger problem for Barlow owners is that he is in coach Erickson's doghouse over the penalty. Stay tuned.

St. Louis' Torry Holt left the game on Sunday with a concussion and did not return to action. He will be evaluated further as the week goes along - post-concussion symptoms sometimes take a few days to crop up. Keep an eye on his status later in the week if Holt is on your roster. Dane Looker was inactive for the game on Sunday due to his injury (ankle, doubtful on Friday's injury report).

Seattle's Koren Robinson is scheduled for his drug-related suspension appeal hearing on Tuesday. If the league denies his appeal, then Robinson would reportedly go on a 4 game suspension immediately. Stay tuned on this developing story if you are a Robinson owner.

Punters

Baltimore's Dave Zastudil injured his shoulder in the game on Sunday and could not return to action. QB/P Kordell Stewart handled the punting duties and was surprisingly effective (the commentators described his punts as "knuckle-balls" that had unpredictable motion, leading to a lack of returns). On Monday the injury is being described as a separated shoulder - no timetable for his return has been established.

Offensive Linemen

Baltimore's LT Jonathan Ogden missed the game on Sunday due to his injured hamstring (questionable on Friday's injury report). G Edwin Mulitalo broke his pinkie toe in the game, and did not return to action (although he claimed he could have done so after the game "It's not a big deal").

Carolina's MLB Dan Morgan was forced out of the game due to a blow to the head.
