As promised, here's the comprehensive Injury Wrapup. We've been keeping

Quarterbacks
Buffalo's backup QB J.P. Losman was out of the game on Sunday due to his
broken leg.
Pittsburgh's starting QB Tommy Maddox injured the elbow on his right
(throwing) arm. The Steelers are seeking a second opinion, but the initial
diagnosis was a slight tear in the ligaments and that Maddox could not
throw for six weeks. Backup Ben Roethlisberger will take over
signal-calling duties for Maddox.
San Diego's starting QB Drew Brees was knocked out of the game on Sunday
due to a concussion. They'll watch it this week but Brees is confident he
will be ready for Denver on Sunday. "At this point I'm looking great for
Sunday,'' Brees said Monday, 24 hours after he was hurt. "I feel a lot
better today than I did yesterday after the game and last night. Things
are coming back. I should be ready to go by Wednesday.''
Washington's starting QB Mark Brunell was forced from the game on Sunday
by a left hamstring injury. He is currently described as day-to-day due to
the injury, but more examinations are expected later in the week.
Running Backs
Atlanta's Warrick Dunn sprained his left knee on his second TD Sunday. The
severity of the sprain isn't currently known.
Baltimore's backup FB Harold Morrow injured his hamstring in the game on
Sunday and did not return to action. The severity of the pull is not
currently known.
Carolina's Stephen Davis was out of the game on Sunday due to cartilage
damage in his knee.
Cleveland's Lee Suggs was once again inactive for action by the team due
to his neck stinger/spinal condition.
Dallas' RB Julius Jones suffered a broken left shoulder blade in the game
on Sunday, and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks or more of action while the
injury heals. The team may elect to put Jones on IR, ending his season.
Dallas' RB Richie Anderson, out of the game on Sunday due to a sore knee,
is expected back in practice this week.
Denver's Garrison Hearst was inactive for the game on Sunday due to his
slowly-healing left ankle sprain. The team reports that the ankle is
improving, but he's not ready for game-play yet.
Houston's backup RB Tony Hollings (knee) and FB Moran Norris (shoulder)
were inactive for the game on Sunday due to their injuries.
Indianapolis' Edgerrin James was treated after the game for a leg
complaint which coach Dungy then indicated may have been leg cramps. No
serious injury was suspected after the game. However, upon further
evaluation and an MRI, the Colts determined that James had a second-degree
pull of his hamstring, and is doubtful for this week's game vs. Green Bay.
Kansas City did not include Priest Holmes on their post-game injury
report, despite the fact that he sat out the final 12 plays of the game.
However, Dick Vermeil said in his Monday press conference that Holmes has
a "slightly sprained" ankle and that he would likely be "questionable or
doubtful" for week 3. Vermeil stressed that the injury was not a high
ankle sprain.
Miami's Travis Minor was out of the game on Sunday due to his injured
ankle.
Miami's FB Rob Konrad was out of the game on Sunday due to his infected
thigh.
New England's Corey Dillon left the game for a short time on Sunday with
an unspecified leg injury, but he returned to action and the injury is not
considered serious at this time.
New England's Kevin Faulk was out of the game on Sunday due to personal
reasons. The status of his injured knee remains a mystery.
New Orleans' Deuce McAllister suffered a high ankle sprain in the opening
minutes of the game on Sunday, and may be out for several weeks. The team
confirmed a time frame of 5-6 weeks for McAllister's absence on Monday.
New Orleans' backup RB Aaron Stecker also injured an ankle in the game on
Sunday. The severity of his ankle injury isn't currently known, and he
will be evaluated further later in the week.
Oakland's Justin Fargas missed the game on Sunday due to his sprained toe
(he was listed as questionable on the Friday injury report).
San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson jammed his right big toe in the game on
Sunday, but reports that he expects to be fine in time for the next game.
He says that the injury is not turf toe, but just a minor jam of the big
toe.
San Francisco's RB Kevan Barlow suffered a rib contusion during the game
on Sunday and did not return to action. The injury is not considered
serious at this time, and he is probable for the Seattle game. Terry
Jackson tweaked a shoulder, but he too is probable for the next game.
St. Louis' Marshall Faulk suffered a minor knee injury in the second
quarter of the game this Sunday, but returned to action. "I don't want to
say what it is or what's going on, but it just bothered me a little bit
after that," he said..
Seattle's Shaun Alexander did not aggravate the bruised bone in his right
knee, and is expected to play as usual this week.
Wide Receivers
Atlanta's Brian Finneran sat out the final quarter of play on Sunday after
injuring his left Achilles. The injury's severity is not currently known,
it will be evaluated further.
Arizona's Anquan Boldin was out of the game on Sunday due to his injured
knee.

leg.

injury.

arm.

appear to be serious, according to the initial diagnosis.

injured hamstring.
San Francisco's Arnaz Battle injured his back in the game on Sunday, but
it was a minor ding and he is probable to play in the next game.
Tampa Bay's Joey Galloway was out of the game on Sunday due to his injured
groin.
Tennessee's Drew Bennett aggravated a rib injury originally suffered
during pre-season. The team will probably list him as questionable to play
this week, as the Titans normally only use "out" and "questionable" on
their injury reports, despite NFL regulations to the contrary. WR Darrell
Hill also suffered a hip pointer in the game.
Tennessee's Tyrone Calico continues to rehab his sprained knees, and has
yet to take the field in regular season.
Washington's Laveranues Coles caught 9 passes for 100 yards on Sunday
despite his injured big toe.
Tight Ends
Baltimore's TE Todd Heap sprained his right ankle in the game on Sunday.
X-rays were negative, but further evaluation is planned for later this
week. On Monday, coach Billick indicated that Heap is very sore due to a
"severe" ankle sprain, and put a 2-4 week time frame on Heap's return to
the lineup.
Cleveland's Steve Heiden was out of the game on Sunday due to his knee
injury.
Cleveland's Kellen Winslow II suffered a broken leg in the waning seconds
of the game against Dallas on Sunday, according to team sources. He is
expected to be out 6-8 weeks, according to initial reports. The team
confirmed the broken fibula on Monday, and confirmed the 6-8 (best-case)
time frame for Winslow's return.
Dallas' Jason Witten may have broken his upper jaw during the game on
Sunday. Witten missed only one game last year after breaking his lower
jaw, and claims that this injury is not nearly as bad as the injury last
year. It doesn't sound like an injury to worry about, but we'll keep an
eye on his progress this week.
Indianapolis' Dallas Clark injured his foot in the game on Sunday, and is
questionable to play against the Packers.
Jacksonville's Kyle Brady was out of the game on Sunday due to a healing
finger (tendon re-attached surgically).

injury.

knee injury.
San Diego's Antonio Gates suffered a sprained foot in the game on Sunday.
The severity of the sprain is not currently known - Gates is being
evaluated.

kickoff return early in the game. He continued to play but missed his only
field goal attempt.

knee. Michael Moore is done for the season due to a shoulder injury.

knee. The severity of the aggravation of his knee tendonitis is not known.
Houston's RT Todd Wade spent time in the hospital last week due to an
infection, but managed to play for most of the game on Sunday. He reported
feeling weak after the game. RG Zach Wiegert sat out the second half and
has a MRI scheduled to evaluate his left elbow.
New England's C Dan Koppen tweaked his right knee in the game, and missed
a few plays. He was icing the injury after the game, and reported that the
knee was fine, if a little sore.
New York Jets' starting C Kevin Mawae broke his right hand (fourth
metacarpal) in the game against San Diego. Coach Edwards was unsure how
long Mawae would be out due to the injury. If Mawae can't snap the ball
(he uses his right hand to snap) this is a huge injury sure to impact the
OL - Mawae is a perennial Pro-Bowler. The Jets are on bye this week, so
time is on the Jets' side.
San Francisco C Jeremy Newberry missed the game on Sunday due to an
injured knee, and is scheduled for corrective surgery on the joint on
Tuesday.
San Francisco's LT Kwame Harris suffered a high ankle sprain and will
probably miss the next game vs. Seattle, and may be out several weeks. He

did not return to action. His injury will be evaluated further later in

shoulder injury. Jenkins stated he was fearful that the injury may cause
some nerve problems he has had in the past to recur. An MRI is scheduled
for later Monday to further evaluate the injury.

sprained knee. The severity of the injury is not currently known.
Cincinnati's DT Matthias Askew was out of the game on Sunday due to his
injured knee.
Cleveland's DE Courtney Brown suffered a left foot injury in the game on
Sunday. Coach Davis indicated after the game that he did not know the
extent of Browns' injury. Evaluations are ongoing on Monday to determine
the significance of the injury. Just as this injury report is going to
press, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting that Brown is out for the
season. If so, Cleveland's DT has suffered a serious blow.
Cleveland's DE Ebenezer Ekuban, forced into action when Brown went down,
battled through a pulled groin muscle to play the rest of the game. LDT
Gerard Warren started the game but could not finish after aggravating his
strained pectoral muscle, and was limited in effectiveness while in
action.
Denver's DT Trevor Pryce was a game-time scratch when he informed coach
Shanahan that the pinched nerve in his back would not allow him to play
effectively. His status for next week's game is now in doubt. The team
"hopes" that he can play. If he's on your IDP squad, you might want to
look at other options this week.

broken left thumb.

Browning moved into Holliday's spot and recorded a sack during the action.
Miami's DT Larry Chester tore his right ACL in the game on Sunday, and is
lost for the season (9-12 months rehabilitation time-frame). Starting DT
Tim Bowens missed the game on Sunday due to his injured (herniated disk)
back, leaving the Dolphins thin on the DL. Starting DE Jason Taylor

disk in neck) were sidelined for the game on Sunday due to their
