Quarterbacks
Chicago's Rex Grossman injured his right knee during the game on Sunday, did
not return to action, and left the stadium wearing a brace and using a crutch
to walk. Tests Monday confirmed a torn ACL, meaning that Grossman is out for
the season. Surgery will be performed in a few weeks, and then Grossman faces
7-10 months of rehabilitation. Jonathan Quinn, a 7th year pro/journeyman QB
is expected to be the new starter in Chicago. In 2001 he lead the Berlin Thunder
to a NFLEL title.
Green Bay's Brett Favre was held out of the waning moments of the game on Sunday
due to a bruised hamstring but the injury is not considered serious at this
time. His sore left shoulder has not hampered Favre's play so far, and isn't
considered serious either.
New York Giants' Kurt Warner twisted an ankle during the game on Sunday, but
remained in the game. The injury does not appear serious at this time.
Oakland's Rich Gannon suffered a head/back injury on a hit during the game
on Sunday, and did not return to action. On Monday, the team learned that Gannon
fractured several vertebrae in his neck, and is out for at least six weeks.
Kerry Collins is now the starter in Oakland. Gannon may be placed on IR.
Pittsburgh's Tommy Maddox missed the game on Sunday due to his elbow injury,
as expected. He was listed as out prior to the game.

his sore shoulder. Rattay was listed as questionable on Friday, but may be out
another 2 weeks, according to reports in the San Francisco press.
Tennessee's Steve McNair injured his sternum during the game on Sunday, and
was unable to return to action. He had trouble breathing due to the injury,
and was admitted to the hospital for examination.
Running Backs
Cleveland's Lee Suggs sat out another game on Sunday due to his neck injury/spinal
condition. He feels healthy enough to play, but the training staff continues
to proceed with extreme caution.

out of practice on Thursday and Friday. Garrison Hearst was the backup to Quentin
Griffin on Sunday, playing through his sore ankle.
Detroit's Kevin Jones sprained his right ankle early in the game on Sunday
and did not return to action. He is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with what is
termed a "mild" high ankle sprain. Artose Pinner will see some starts
until Jones is healthy again. Shawn Bryson will see time as well. The Lions
are on bye this week, which will give Jones time to heal, but he is likely to
miss a couple of games.
Detroit's FB Corey Schlesinger injured his left hamstring in the game on Sunday
and did not return to action. The severity of the injury is not known at this
time.
Houston's Domanick Davis was forced out of the game on Sunday by a sprained
ankle (he originally injured the ankle in the first half, tried to come back
in the second half, and aggravated the injury), and his backup Tony Hollings
was inactive due to a knee injury. Jonathan Wells carried the load for the Texans
in Davis and Hollings' absence. The severity of the sprain is unknown at the
present time, although Davis said after the game that the injury was not a big
problem "It's not bad, I'm all right".
Indianapolis' Edgerrin James was careful in his outing vs. the Packers due
to his injured hamstring. James commented after the game, "I didn't want

I felt anything, I was going to come out."
Kansas City's Priest Holmes played despite an ankle sprain and gained 134 yards
rushing during the game.
Miami's Lamar Gordon injured his left shoulder in the game on Sunday and did
not return to action. He will likely be listed as questionable this week and

ankle. Though listed as questionable on the Friday injury report, McAllister

He will be further evaluated as the week goes on, but indicated to teammates
after the game he believes the injury is an ACL tear (which would end his season)
- Ritchie left the stadium on crutches. Tests Monday confirmed Ritchie's suspicions,
and he is out for the season. The team re-signed FB Josh Parry (they had cut
him from the practice squad last week) when they put Ritchie on IR. Thomas Tapeh
