Blitz Packages - Week 13
November 29th, 2002

Cardinals @ Chiefs

Cardinals: The Chief OL is pretty solid, so dont look for much production here. Vanden Bosch will get 2-1-1, and the other DL will be lucky to match that. LB Ray Thompson has been on a tear, and I think hell be solid against Priest Holmes with 6-3-1. McKinnon will also be a good play at 4-4-0. DB Wilson is playing tough and remains a must start (4-2-0 1 PD). Kwamie Lassiter gets a nod this week after showing up last week, with 3-3-0 2 PDs. Chiefs: DL Hicks (2-1-0) and Clemons (2-2-1) are the prime producers here. LB Maslowski is still you best play and will get 8-10 tackles. Patton is inconsistent but should get 6-2-0. DB Warfield should get a pick as well as 3-3-0. The other DBs will get 3-5 tackles too.

Falcons @ Vikings

Falcons: DL Kerney gets to face an improving but not solid Viking OL. Hell still have a fine day at 2-3-1. The LBs numbers could suffer a hit depending on RB Bennetts ankle. Brooking will have 4-3-1. The other LBs will have 5-7 tackles. Dont expect more than 5 tackles out of any of the DBs, although Culpepper will probably commit one turnover, probably an INT. Im going to go with the hot hand and give it to DB Carpenter (2-1-0 1 INT). Vikings: The Viking DL will have their hands full with the solid Falcon OL and the slippery-as-an-eel Vick. Mixon should get a sack but not much more 1-2-0. The LBs have been pretty bad and you probably arent starting them unless youre in a really big league. Give Biekert 8 and the rest about 6. DB Chavous seems to be settling in at SS, so I think hell get 4-3-0.

Ravens @ Bengals

Ravens: Since McCrary went down the Raven DL have pulled a disappearing act worthy of Hoffa. Give them 3-4 tackles. The LBs should suck up the tackles, so give Hartwell 7-4-0 and the rest 6-8. DB Reed will get 4-3-0 chasing Dillon around the yard. Bengals: The Ravens are giving up a bunch of sacks, which makes DL Smith a good play this week (3-1-1). Facing a steady diet of Jamal Lewis, Spikes (4-4-1) and Simmons (6-4-0) stand to have a good outing. DB Hawkins (3-3-0) remains a must start.

Panthers @ Browns

Panthers: The Panthers D squad resembles an outpatient ward more than a defensive team. Peppers always gets started, and Rucker (3-1-1) will be a good play too. Too bad about LB Morgan but the guys is the Fred Taylor of LBs. With CLE RB Green gaining confidence, whoever the Panthers scrape together at LB will get at least 8 tackles. It is no co-incidence that DB Minters production has been increasing proportional to the amount of injuries. He should get at least 6-3-0. Browns: Courtney Brown deserves a spot play here since the Panther OL has not been playing well (2-0-1). But remember this is the guy who just about blanked against the most giving OL in the league the Texans.

Bears @ Packers

Bears: DL Daniels (3-1-1) and Brown (2-2-0) will be good plays, with the potential for more if the Bears offense remain s in hibernation. Urlacher will get his 10+, and Colvin will do well too (5-5-0). Cladwell has been a blue chipper for Holdman (4-3-0). DB Browns tackle totals will be good (5-4-0). Green should get at least six. Packers: DL Holiday (2-1-1) and Gbaja-Biamila (2-2-1) will hassle the QB through a porous Bear OL all day. LB Nickerson will get at least 8 until the Bears get behind and are forced to abandon the run. Wayne will have about six as well as a sack. DB Sharper should get an interception as well as 3-2-0.

Dolphins @ Bills

Dolphins: After Taylor, no DL has really broken out. Give one of them a sack, Probably Ogunleye (1-2-1). LB Thomas remains the only viable start at LB as well (8-3-0). DB Marions production has fallen off and he has been looking a tad old, but Ill still give him 4 tackles and a PD. Bills: Pat Willaims will be nice and busy helping stop RB Williams (3-4-0). Schobel will have decent tackles and probably a sack (3-2-1). LB Fletcher will have at least 8 and likely more (6-5-0). Since the Miami run game will be on display DB Wire is a nice play this week (3-4-0).

Steelers @ Jaguars

Steelers: All DL are streaky, and Smith is going through a down phase (2-0-0). The most shocking development has been the complete disappearance of Kendrell Bell. Whenever I see this, I think that the players previous injury is still limiting him. Porter should get 8 tackles. Whoever else the Steelers can press into service at LB will get no more than that, most likely six. DB Scott will get 3-2-0, and the other DBs will be in that area as well, with 1-2 PDs thrown in. Jaguars: Henderson has been getting a lot of tackles, but against Kordell I think hell get a sack as well (4-3-1). LB Slaughter will get 8-2-0 and Rainer 5-3-0. DB Darius is questionable, but if he does play will probably be limited to 6 tackles. McCree will have 3-3-0.

Titans @ Giants

Titans: Carter has fallen in a hole, and unless someone can help him out hell stay there (2-1-0). LB Bulluck had an off week, but Im not ready to jump off the bandwagon just yet (6-3-0). Sirmon should also have at least 8 as well. DB Dyson has re-emerged as a viable starter, but thats only because hes making plays down the field rather than when hes supposed to (3-1-0). Williams will have a nice day but nothing special barring a freak turnover/TD (3-3-0). Giants: Strahan seems like hes been picking up steam and will get 2-1-2. The LBs have been pretty average, but George should make them decent, say 8-10 tackles. The other DBs are very inconsistent and wont get much more than 3-4 tackles anyway at best.

Broncos @ Chargers

Broncos: Pryce will be busy with Tomlinson and be an ok play at 3-1-0. LB Wilson will have 6-2-0, and Gold 3-4-0. DB ONeal is a must start (3-1-0 1 PD). Chargers: The DL will not bust out this week against the solid Bronco line. Give Wiley 2-1-1. The LBs will be productive against Portis. Edwards (5-4-0) and Seau (7-2-0) will have solid performances. DB Harrison is coming back to his old self, and will get 6-3-0.

Texans @ Colts

Texans: The DL wont get many sacks, but they will have nice tackle totals. Walker will have 3-3-0 and Payne should get 4-3-0. Foreman should again be studly at 7-4-0, and Sharper will be an ok play with 4-3-1). DB Coleman will get 3-3-0 1 PD, Glenn 4-2-0. Colts: Get any Colt DL you have into your starting lineup against this bad Texan OL. LB Morris should again get a sack this week too (5-3-1). Peterson (5-2-0) could get one as well. None of the Colt DBs are worth starting since they were under-performing and inconsistent anyway.

Seahawks @ 49ers

Seahawks: This mediocre DL will have a rough go of it against the 49ers. None should get more than 4 tackles, and Eaton will probably have a sack. However, LB Simmons should continue to play his way back into shape and get 6-3-0. Huff will have 4-3-0. DB Tongue will be busy with Hearst and get 4-3-0. 49ers: The Hawks have been a helpful OL for enemy sackers. Carter was already playing at a high level, and will be good this week (3-2-1.5). LB Smith will have at least 4-3-0. The DBs will get about 4 tackles but at least one pick.

Rams @ Eagles

Rams: With a 3rd string QB in, the Rams should pin their ears back and try to thump him into oblivion. Wistrom should have 2-1-1. LB Polley will have 6-2-0. With the re-emergence of the offense the IDP production has suffered. Archuleta will then get 5-2-0. Eagles: Until one of the QBs proves they can be productive, all of the Eagle IDPs get upgrades. Give DL Douglas 3-2-1. Give the LBs at least 6-8 tackles. DB Dawkins will get 3-3-0 1 PD.

Bucs @ Saints (SNF)

Bucs: The Saints OL isnt playing well right now, so give Sapp 2-2-1 and Rice 2-1-1. Brooks could get another interception as well as 5-4-0. Quarles will have 4-3-0. DB Kelly will have 3 tackles and a PD. One of the DBs should get an INT. Saints: The entire Saint DL has been under-performing, so Im not looking for much out of them this week. DL Smith will get 2-1-1 at most. The prospects for the LBs are pretty slim given the lack of a Buc running game. Still, LB Smith should at least get 5-3-0. DB Knight should be solid as usual (4-3-0 1 PD at least). Bellamy is hot and cold. At 3-1-0 and 1 PD, you can decide what temp that is for you.

Jets @ Raiders (MNF)

Jets: The Jets have been playing well, but the Raiders are much more talented and will burst their bubble. DL Abraham has a pretty average match and will get 2-1-1. Ferguson will chime in with 2-2-0. The ILBs will get 9-11 tackles, and the OLBs about three less. Cowart is pretty mobile so give him a sack. The DBs will be active and have 3-5 tackles and 1-3 PDs. Raiders: McAlisters injury concerns put a damper on the tackle forecast for the DL. Jackson will get 2-1-1, and the other DL will be lucky to match it. LB Barton will get 5-3-0. MLB Harris/Smith will have 6-3-0. DB Woodson will be his usual busy self and hit 6-3-0.
