Baltimore 17 at Atlanta 20

Baltimore Ravens:

QB Jeff Blake started in place of the injured Chris Redman. Showed his usual nice touch on the long throws. Did not have the accuracy on shorter routes or when being pressured. Missed on several short out patterns. Fumble at own two probably cost the Ravens the game.

The Ravens running backs were not a factor, with only 16 carries between them. Lewis was 12 for 36 yards. When he ran, Jamal Lewis had a couple of nice moves breaking to the outside to find holes. Lewis bobbled but caught an outlet pass while wide open. Was under thrown on a crossing route.

WR Travis Taylor is showing signs of the proverbial (mythical?) 3rd-year breakout. He had 7 catches last week and showed up with a career high 127 yards (and a TD) this week. He is easily getting more looks than the other WRs. If he's available, scoop him up.

TE Todd Heap is still the Ravens' number one target. Although Heap did not get a look in the first quarter. Lined up at wide receiver on his first catch. Was overthrown over the middle as Blake was bailing out of the pocket. Couldn't come down with a "jump ball" reception, a 15-yard bullet went through his hands, and another attempt deep over the middle went off his hands. An official's inadvertent whistle nullified a 27-yard touchdown for Heap, he was still credited for a 12-yard reception on the play. Was overpowered trying to block blitzing linebackers.

Atlanta Falcons:

QB Michael Vick is human after all. The Ravens' secondary did a wonderful job in coverage and their spies contained Vick. Vick did not have his usual accuracy, possibly from his shoulder injury. Had several plays that only Vick could make while recovering after avoiding the rush. Considering his cast, he's playing pretty amazing football though.

WR Trevor Gaylor filled in nicely for the departed Willie Jackson, becoming Vick's main target in the second half. Vick found him after an extended scramble for his first catch. Vick missed him on four other occasions, including an overthrow in the end zone.

RB Warrick Dunn did not get the carries he feels he needs to be effective. Big play was when he lined up at quarterback, with Vick split out. Dunn ran a fake reverse to Vick and cut up field for 24 yards.

RB T.J. Duckett got his first carry in the middle of the second quarter. He was listed "probable" this week, after missing last week with a foot injury. Had just three carries in the first half, including a 33-yarder using his speed to get to the outside. Carried the bulk of the load in the second half. He and Warrick Dunn are an excellent NFL combination, but they make each other mediocre fantasy RBs.

A wide-open Brian Finneran dropped an under thrown 35-yard flea flicker on the first play from scrimmage. Vick missed him on a rollout at the goal line from the four. Finneran dropped a low pass in the flat in what could have been a big day for him.

Cincinnati 38 at Houston 3

Cincinnati Bengals:

Dick LeBeau said the Bengals would win and Chad Johnson guaranteed a victory against the expansion Texans in Houston.

The Bengals traveled to Houston to put up their highest point total of the season. Their defense also allowed the lowest point total of their season. These two factors led to the Bengals first win of 2002.

The play that changed the momentum of the game was the 102 interception return for a touchdown by Artrell Hawkins. The Texans were driving and seemed destine to score again when Hawkins jumped in front of Jabar Gaffney in the end zone. The touchdown tied the record for the longest play in Bengals history.

QB Jon Kitna may have had his finest day as a Bengal. 22 of 27 for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions is impressive. He had a QB rating of 146.8. Proving to his team, he belongs behind center.

WR Michael Westbrook emerged as a red zone threat with 2 catches, both for touchdowns. Peter Warrick showed why he was drafted in the first round as well. Warrick showed excellent moves and quickness after the catch on his 33 yard touchdown catch and run.

RB Corey Dillon had a productive day with 92 yards rushing but failed to find the end zone. Kitna took care of that scoring from 10 yards and further out on 4 occasions.

Houston Texans:

The Texans scored 3 points on their opening drive thanks to 3 penalties on the Bengals to keep the drive alive. After the opening drive field goal. The Texans allowed the Bengals 38 unanswered points.

QB David Carr was leading his team to their second score on as many drives when he was picked off in the end zone. Carr tried to tackle Hawkins after the pick, but was unable to. Carr had thrown 97 straight passes without a pick. He threw 2 in this game.

RBs Jonathan Wells and James Allen once again slit carries with Wells getting the start. At one point they were coming in or out of the game on every down. Wells had the better game with 44 yards rushing on 12 carries.

Dallas 7 at Detroit 9

Detroit Lions:

Joey Harrington had a very poor outing in this game, completing 14 of 33 passes for only 104 yards and two interceptions, one of which was in the Cowboy endzone. The Cowboys defense pressured Harrington all game while covering the Lions receivers very well. Harrington also had little help from his offensive line. A terrible game in all facets of offense for the Lions.

James Stewart rushed for 50 yards in 19 attempts and added 4 receptions for 41 yards for 91 yards of total offense... not too bad considering the ineffectiveness of the Lion offensive line during the game. Stewart also has been the Lions leading the receiver the past few games.

The Lion WR's were almost non existent in the game due to the pressure put on QB Joey Harrington and the good coverage of the Cowboy secondary.

The Lion defense finally put up a decent performance. They pressured Dallas QB Chad Hutchinson all game long and sacked him five times. They also caused Hutchinson to fumble twice. The Lion defense effectively shut down the Cowboy rush attack, only allowing a 3 yard TD plunge to Troy Hambrick, and the secondary did a good job of covering the Cowboy receivers. Do not expect the Lions to perform as well on a regular basis.

Dallas Cowboys:

Chad Hutchinson performance was only slightly better than Joey Harrington's. Hutchinson went 22/39 for 208 yards, no interceptions, and no TD's. Hutchinson was under tremendous pressure from the Lion pass rush all game and was sacked five times... mostly due to his immobility in the pocket. Hutchinson also lost two fumbles that were recovered by the Lions, one of which led to a Lion field goal. A very poor performance all around by the Cowboy offense.

Emmitt Smith was held to 39 yards rushing in 16 attempts by the Lion run defense. Smith was dropped for losses behind the line of scrimmage several times in the game. Smith had an injury to his hand, and came off the field limping with 4 minutes to go in the fourth quarter after a running play and did not return.

The Cowboy defense played very well, allowing Lion QB Joey Harrington only 104 yards through the air. The secondary covered the Lion receivers very well and intercepted Lion QB Joey Harrington twice, once in their own endzone. The Cowboy run defense allowed the Lion RBs a total of 52 yards combined on the ground. A very nice performance, but don't expect the Cowboy defense to do as well against better offenses.

Minnesota 24 at Tampa Bay 38

Minnesota Vikings:

Penalties (13 committed) and costly turnovers (3) killed the Vikings today.

Daunte Culpepper threw for 231 yards and rushed for another 8, but he didn't see the end zone and he threw two interceptions. He only found Randy Moss 4 times for a measly 41 yards. However, they did connect on a nice 41 yard TD that was called back on a holding penalty.

Michael Bennett is an enigma. Throughout the game, he ran with his head down showing no vision and no elusiveness averaging 3.2 yards per carry and not looking pretty. Then, out of nowhere he takes a handoff 85 yards for a TD looking like a faster Marshall Faulk. He had 10 carries for 114 yards and 1 td in the game.

Any time you have a wide receiver or quarterback playing the Vikings; start them. Their pass defense is non-existent. Buccaneer receivers were wide open all day long.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

The Bucs inexplicably abandoned Michael Pittman today only giving him 3 carries. He was not injured.

Mike Alstott got 26 carries and looked tough but only managed 55 yards against a tough Minnesota run defense. He also caught 3 balls for 16 yards and a TD.

Brad Johnson was golden today; taking advantage of the Vikings' 31st ranked pass defense. He went 24/31 for 313 and a career high 5 TDs. He didn't throw an interception.

Keyshawn Johnson not only caught a season high 9 balls for 133 yards this afternoon, but actually saw the end zone twice, and both times from within the red zone. You never wish injury on any player, but the nicks to both Keenan McCardell and Joe Jurevicius may be the best thing to ever happen to Keyshawn owners.

The Bucs defense was great again. Cornerbacks get sacks, linemen get interceptions, and linebackers are all over the field.

New England 38 at Buffalo 7

New England Patriots:

New England is back. Their defense stopped a powerful Buffalo offense and the New England offense was awesome. This is just the kind of game that may shake the team out of their funk.

This is the Tom Brady we've come to expect this season. Brady was poised, accurate, and nearly perfect. The offensive game plan was well-planned, and Brady came through with a big win for New England.

Antowain Smith was a one-man wrecking crew Sunday. Smith owners finally got a great performance out of their RB. Smith killed Buffalo on the ground and in the air.

New England mixed things up throwing in a scheme showing 0 or 1 true linemen - if you count Willie McGinest as a lineman - that had four linebackers and seven D backs late in the game. Wow.

Buffalo Bills:

Drew Bledsoe had a very good day passing the ball. Besides one interception, Bledsoe played very well under constant pressure from New England's blitzing defense.

It's always nice when your fantasy players have a good output despite a lopsided loss. Though the Bills' WRs didn't post huge numbers, they ran crisp routes. The Bills' WRs came to play.

The Buffalo defense was horrible. Brady torched the Bills' D all day. The run D was easily as bad as the Bills' pass defense. The Bills had no answer for Antowain Smith. Any progress the Bills' defense made in the Miami victory is now long-forgotten.

Philadelphia 19 at Chicago 13

Philadelphia Eagles:

QB Donovan McNabb once again returned to his hometown of Chicago. While he did not have one of his most spectacular fantasy outings, he did enough to get the job done. There's a little worry that he still isn't looking like the same quarterback that we saw at the beginning of the season. But he is still winning games. He completed 18 passes to 8 different receivers for 209 yards, but his passes couldn't find the end zone once. He over threw several receivers. The Bears had Brian Urlacher spying on McNabb, in an effort to make the quarterback beat them with his arm. For the most part he was kept in check, only rushing for 46 yards. The Eagles only touchdown of the day came on a 5-yard McNabb draw play in the 2nd quarter. McNabb threw one interception to Mike Brown.

WR Antonio Freeman led all Eagle receivers with 4 catches for 67 yards. McNabb showed no favoritism on the day, hitting 8 different pass catchers during the game.

Just when it looked like Duce Staley was unstoppable, he got shut down. He ran the ball 19 times for 39 yards. The Bears had an answer for Staley every time he touched the ball. He was even stuffed on an ill-advised 4th and 1 at the Bears 24 yard line. There is still no running back controversy in Philadelphia. Just don't expect Staley to run loose every game.

PK David Akers proved again why he is the most reliable kicker in the NFL. He booted 4 field goals (23, 36, 27, 22) on 4 attempts, accounting for 12 of Philadelphia's 19 points. He would have had a fifth if the Eagles had not gone on 4th and 1 in Bear territory.

The Eagles defense came up huge in the 2nd half. After allowing 207 yards and 13 points in the 1st half, they hunkered down and only allowed 53 yards in the 2nd half.

Chicago Bears:

QB Jim Miller returned to the lineup after a two week hiatus, and seemed to bring back the fire in the Chicago Bears. He is their team leader and the overall attitude seems to improve with him in the game. He looked sharp in the first half, but was rattled in the 2nd. He completed 19 passes to 7 different receivers for 205 yards. He didn't throw any interceptions or touchdowns all game. The Bears used a no-huddle offense for most of the game, and had the Eagles defense confused and on their heals. After some defensive half time adjustments, Miller only completed 7 passes in the second half, 5 of them on the final drive of the game. He fumbled the ball in his own 18-yard line, in the beginning of the 4th quarter, which led to David Acker's 3rd field goal, and put the Eagles ahead for good.

RB Anthony Thomas looked back on track in the 2nd quarter. He didn't get a single carry in the 1st quarter. Leon Johnson got all the 1st quarter carries. Before halftime, Thomas gained over 40 yards on the ground and hit pay dirt on a 6-yard touchdown run towards the left end. He hit the holes hard and looked unstoppable. Just like the back we all expected to see this year. The 2nd half was another story. He gained about 5 yards on the ground. He added 52 yards in the air throughout the game, to make it look like a respectable day. His performance wasn't as good as his numbers so be careful.

LB Brian Urlacher is a monster. I know this isn't news to anyone, but I'm amazed every time I watch this guy play. He recorded 8 tackles, 2 assists, and a sack. If it wasn't for him, McNabb may have had another 100-yard rushing day.

The Bears committed 12 penalties for 121 yards. Both teams played a sloppy game.

Pittsburgh 23 at Cleveland 20

Pittsbugh Steelers:

Another excellent game for Tommy Maddox. While known for being a classic pocket passer, the Steelers actually rolled Maddox out of the pocket on occasion and had some success with it. What the Steelers give up with Maddox's immobility they more than make up for with is accuracy. His TD pass to Ward was a bullet that was in the receiver's hands while he was breaking open, not after he broke open and the defense had time to react. He also had a nice 1-yard pass to Bruener off of play action. The interception was a killer for Maddox owners because it was on the Cleveland goal line. If he had led Randal El a bit more he would have had another TD pass. His finished the day 23-42 with 239 passing yards.

Amos Zereoue should have Bettis owners justifiably worried. He was the total package today in the backfield for the Steelers. He carried 29 times for 111 yards and added 5 catches for 62 yards. He didn't score but that yardage total helped soften that blow for owners in performance leagues. Bettis was interviewed during the game and said he expected to be back next week which probably means Zereoue is back to his old role.

Plaxico Burress had a disappointing game for fantasy owners. 4 catches for 69 yards isn't going to get anybody too excited. Especially since one of those catches ended at the 1-yard line and set up the Bruener TD. He also had a 20+ yard gain wiped out on a trick play where the Steelers got called for holding. Maddox uncharacteristically overthrew Burress on what would have been a 40+yard TD.

Hines Ward showed good concentration on his TD catch because the ball was literally in his hands as he broke out of his cut. Maddox isn't really zeroing in on any particular receiver so it's tough to call which one is the lock start.

I should also note that the Steelers seem to be having kicker trouble again. It's not the catastrophe that Kris Brown was last year but it's pretty bad. Twice today the Steelers went fro 4th and long instead of trying for a FG because of Peterson's problems this year. He did finish the game 3 for 4 with a long kick of 43 yards but if you have other kicker options you should got to them rather than rely on Peterson.

Cleveland Browns:

Jamel White left the game in the 3rd quarter with an unspecified shoulder injury. The Browns were not the same after that. White ran hard while he was in the game and again proved himself as a threat to catch balls out of the backfield. It was clear that the Steelers schemed defensively specifically against White.

William Green was terrible as White's replacement. He rushed only 4 times for 10 yards and left all of the offensive pressure on Couch. Green didn't have a single catch in the game, either.

With zero rushing threat to bail him out Tim Couch had a long, painful second half. He was under constant pressure and was sacked three times. It seemed like every time he dropped back he got hit. It's a wonder he finished the game. The added pressure also forced him to make throws into double and triple coverage, something he had gotten away from in recent weeks. He threw two interceptions, the first was off of a tipped ball but the second was one he threw into triple coverage. He also threw 2 TDs, the first was to TE Steve Heiden on a play fake from the 1-yard line. The second TD was a 31-yard jump ball to Quincy Morgan where Morgan simply out-fought the defender.

San Francisco 23 at Oakland 20

San Francisco 49ers:

The Oakland curse continued for K Jose Cortez, at least until he nailed the game-winning field goal in overtime. Prior to that, he badly shanked a 39-yard attempt and a 27-yard attempt that would have won the game in regulation.

QB Jeff Garcia was a fantasy monster today, running for 46 yards and passing for 282 and two touchdowns.

Garcia's favorite target was once again Terrell Owens, who worked that short-to-medium range slant pattern to the tune of a season-high 12 catches for 191 yards.

WR Tai Streets continued to impress as a starter. Even though his numbers weren't great, he made several tough catches and Garcia clearly has confidence in him.

Overall, the 49ers defense played well, allowing less than ten yards per pass reception and only 3.9 per rush.

Oakland Raiders:

QB Rich Gannon's numbers were not impressive. The Raiders tried to establish the run early and it took three quarters for Gannon and his receivers to get a rhythm.

As late as the early 4th quarter, Tim Brown and Jerry Rice had combined for one catch. Rice caught fire late (finishing 6-74) but Brown finished with only one grab for ten yards. Tight coverage by Ahmed Plummer and Mike Rumph contributed to the duo's poor showing.

A special teams gaff contributed to the 49ers second score when Ronald Curry, activated this week, fumbled a kickoff that was recovered by the Niners.

RB Charlie Garner ran well but carried only 14 times. He compiled 52 rushing yards and a score. He looked very quick and made some hard cuts, so he looks completely recovered from his injury a few weeks ago.

Tennessee 23 at Indianapolis 15

Tennessee Titans:

Titans safety Lance Schulters separated his left shoulder late in the third quarter and is questionable for next week's game against Houston.

Tennessee's ground game got rolling early in the game and never looked back as they relied on George for the remainder of the contest. George rushed 22 times for 95 yards. "We established something we wanted to establish," McNair said. "We wanted to eliminate mistakes and methodically move down the field and we did."

QB Steve McNair only threw 19 times (completing 14) for just 82 yards. He did throw a short TD. This was primarily because the Titans were able to run over the Colts and Tennessee didn't need to throw.

WR Derrick Mason looked fine catching half (41) of McNair's total passing yardage. He just didn't have the opportunities.

Indianapolis Colts:

The Colts failed to establish a running game. They were playing without two-time NFL rushing leader Edgerrin James and his backup, Ricky Williams, who was a late scratch after being expected to start. Both were inactive because of hamstring injuries.

Rookie RB James Mungro did well with his limited opportunities, but the Colts went to the pass as their primary form of attack to catch up after falling behind. Keep a close eye on the injury situation among the Colts RBs as Mungro might be worth a shot if James and Williams are limited.

QB Peyton Manning threw 50 times completing 37 for 327 yards and 2 TDs. "Today's game was very similar to the last two weeks, where we just get the big deficits and dig ourselves a hole and don't have enough to fight back," Colts coach Tony Dungy said. "It's disappointing." Indianapolis didn't score until the game's final 13 minutes. By then they'd fallen behind 23-0.

Washington 14 at Seattle 3

Washington Redskins:

With Stephen Davis out with a knee injury, Kenny Watson got the start. Watson had a great game, rushing 23 times for 110 yards. Ladell Betts spelled Watson. He rushed for 37 yards on 5 carries.

Shane Matthews only had 114 yards today, but with the Redskins taking an early 14-3 lead, Steve Spurrier got conservative and used Watson to run the ball. He threw touchdown passes to Darnerien McCants (11 yards) and Rod Gardner (19 yards).

The Redskins defense played excellent today. They didn't allow Hasselbeck to complete many long passes, or Alexander to run for any big gains. They were especially tough when the Seahawks got into the redzone.

Seattle Seahawks:

Koren Robinson was the top receiver today with Darrell Jackson out. Robinson caught eight passes for a total of 100 yards. He wasn't Hasselbeck's only target, however. Tight end Itula Mili caught six passes for 71 yards. Shaun Alexander caught eight passes for 48 yards.

Shaun Alexander wasn't used much in the running game because the Seahawks fell behind early.

The Seattle Run defense continues to be one of the worst in the league, allowing the Redskins to rush for 146 yards.

St. Louis 27 at Arizona 14

St. Louis Rams:

QB Marc Bulger looked impressive again in leading the Ram offense. He completed 20 of his 29 attempts and spread the ball around to 8 different receivers. In the first half he was 15 for 19 for 207 yards as the Rams controlled the game. His 2 touchdown passes were beautiful throws. He did throw 2 interceptions, both of which were deserved.

RB Marshall Faulk was unstoppable even while suffering from the flu. Faulk dominated this game with 236 total yards. He had a 14 yard run called back on a holding penalty which would have given him an even 250 yards. By comparison Arizona totaled only 257 yards. He did come out of the game periodically with what appeared to be calf cramps. He showed no ill-effects in his play and he scored the final Ram touchdown.

RB Trung Canidate spelled Faulk as needed. It appears he may have passed Lamar Gordon as the backup to Faulk but his outing was absolutely dreadful. He carried 5 times for 4 yards. Against the same defense, Faulk averaged 6.6 yards per carry. This situation bears watching because whoever backs up Faulk has tremendous value but it appears that may change from Canidate to Gordon.

WR Tory Holt caught only one pass for a 7 yard touchdown. He was targeted 5 times in the game but dropped 2 passes, one of which was an easy touchdown catch. However on the next play, Bulger went right back to Holt for the touchdown.

WR Isaac Bruce was the most targeted of the Rams wide receivers getting 8 passes thrown his way. Bulger definitely favoring Bruce over Holt at this point. Bruce was only able to come down with 3 catches for 31 yards.

The Rams did a phenomenal job holding the Arizona running game in check. They gave up only 40 rushing yards to the Cardinal running backs. It appeared their game plan was to force the Cardinals to throw and they succeeded.

Arizona Cardinals:

QB Jake Plummer came into the game with the lowest Quarterback Rating of any NFL starter. He did little to improve his status but got little help from his running game or David Boston. Plummer completed 19 of 30 and 1 touchdown to go with 1 interception. He added a couple scrambles and made a few 3rd down conversions to extend drives. He kept his team in the game until the Rams scored with 1:53 in the game.

RB Thomas Jones carried 12 times for only 25 yards averaging 2.1 carries. He looked slow to the holes and showed no explosion or power. He did have 4 catches for 31 yards and had a 41 yard reception called back on a holding penalty.

WR David Boston looks nothing like the All Pro receiver he was a year ago. He looks slowed by his foot injury but even worse, dropped more balls than he caught. He caught only 1 pass for 14 yards and was targeted only 4 times in the game. He dropped 2 easy catches.

WR Frank Sanders was Plummer's favorite target catching 6 balls for 67 yards including Arizona's lone offensive touchdown. He likely will continue to see additional passes his way with Boston struggling. Additionally MarTay Jenkins left with a broken bone in his shoulder blade on the opening kick off.

NY Jets 44 at San Diego 13

New York Jets:

Chad Pennington proved he is ready to be a starting QB in the NFL. He took what the defense gave him and played a great game against a tough Charger defense. Most importantly, he was a team leader.

Curtis Martin didn't look to be 100% yet. He broke a few tackles, but was not the dominating runner we're used to seeing.

LaMont Jordan had over 100 yards rushing. It was during mop up at the end of the game after the defense had given up.

The Jets won the special teams battle with a kick return for a TD, a blocked extra point, and a takeaway on a Charger kick return.

San Diego Chargers:

Drew Brees did not have a good day. He was pressured and made several bad throws. He was forced out of the pocket many times and didn't handle the pressure well.

LaDainian Tomlinson ran well but only had 12 carries. The Chargers fell behind early and never committed to the run.

The return of TE Stephen Alexander was welcomed. He was the team's leading receiver and appears to be a big part of the game plan.

The Charger defense had time to heal with the bye week and had the full cast except for the suspended Rodney Harrison. They did not play well and made the Jets offense look like the 2001 Rams.

Jacksonville 17 at NY Giants 24

Jacksonville Jaguars:

WR Jimmy Smith had a very productive day. He was the lone bright spot for the Jaguars, catching 10 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Smith was able to get separation and make plays despite being the only real option in this passing game.

QB Mark Brunell conjured up images of 1996, as he threw for 230 yards and rushed for another 63. Brunell was under a lot of pressure all game and was able to avoid the oncoming rush a number of times by using his feet.

RB Fred Taylor was ineffective running the ball, dropped a perfect 69 yard TD and left the game with an unspecified back injury. How's that for a bad day?

RB Stacey Mack carried the load in the second half. Taylor had just 4 total yards in the first half and did not fare much better in the 2nd. Mack carried Jacksonville for an entire drive and showed an ability to plow over defenders where Taylor could not. Taylor owners don't need to be told to get Mack; the two should be attached at the hip on anyone's fantasy roster.

New York Giants:

Head Coach Jim Fassel announced earlier in the week that he would assume offensive play-calling duties from coordinator Sean Payton. The results had to be very encouraging to the Giants. The Giants got out to a 24-0 lead which could have been even greater had Matt Bryant not missed two first half field goals.

RB Tiki Barber had a monster game. He totaled 163 yards and had 2 scores, including a tremendous 44-yard touchdown run to put the Giants up 24-0. Despite the well-documented struggles of the Giants rushing attack thus far, Barber is still on pace for over 1,900 total yards and 6 touchdowns.

QB Kerry Collins played pretty much a flawless game. He finished up 20-28 for 228 yards and a touchdown. The TD was a huge play in the game. The Giants had dominated the entire first half but were looking at just a 7-point lead heading into halftime. Collins threw a late TD to Ron Dixon, putting the Giants up 14 and giving the team a big lift.

Miami 10 at Green Bay 24

Miami Dolphins:

Turnovers hurt the Dolphins in this game. Ray Lucas moved the offense occasionally but couldn't get any points on the scoreboard to show for it. He left the game in the second quarter in a lot of pain what was called a "burner on his shoulder" according to ABC. Lucas returned in the third period and simply couldn't spark the offense. This is not the same Dolphin team with Lucas behind center.

Cris Carter's first catch out of retirement ended with a turnover on a fumble. It was a tough return for Carter. Chris Chambers didn't have a catch until late in the fourth quarter. McMichael didn't produce either. Don't look for much production out of the Dolphin's receivers until the quarterback position is back in order.

Ricky Williams looked strong running the ball outside and fast on the corners, but couldn't break down the tough Packer defense. The Dolphins were playing from behind all night, which hurt Williams' numbers. The defense deserves the most credit, but the quarterback situation in Miami isn't helping Williams either.

Green Bay Packers:

Brett Favre started the game, and wore a brace on his injured knee. Favre's scrambling ability is inhibited by the knee brace and sideline announcer Melissa Stark reported that Favre has commented that he is not comfortable wearing the brace. Still, Favre moved around and looked good throwing the ball as usual, he was just a bit slower. He took a few hits and one in particular was a shot to his knee and he was fine. Favre hobbled a bit in the late second quarter and his knee looked like it started to bother him. He looked fine in the second half until he left with about 7:30 remaining and the game in hand. He would have stayed in the game if the game were close. Continue to monitor the situation.

Favre started hobbling a little later in the game and his knee looked like it started to bother him. Keep a close eye on this one.

Ahman Green looks great running and catching the ball, and was particularly effective on screen plays. He is the Packers top threat and really does it all for this team.

Donald Driver had a great game and got the best of CB Sam Madison on a number of plays. He out leaped Madison, ran by him on deep routes and broke his tackles. There was no question in this game that Driver was the best wide receiver for the Packers.

The Green Bay defense dominated the game. DE Vonnie Holliday returned to action and LB Nate Wayne had nine tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery on a great individual effort. Safety Darren Sharper returned an interception for 89 yards and a touchdown.
