Glossary of relevant termsBaseline The baseline player is defined to be the #12 QB, the #24 RB, the #30 WR, and the #12 TE of each season. Roughly speaking, if a player is above the baseline, then he has some fantasy value. If not, then he doesn't. For more info, see the VBD primer. Fantasy Points Fantasy Points = PassYd/25 + RushYd/10 + RecYd/10 + PassTD*6 + RushTD*6 + RecTD*6 - 3*INT VBD VBD = (fantasy points - baseline) OR zero (whichever is greater) where the fantasy points are defined by: Fantasy Points = PassYd/25 + RushYd/10 + RecYd/10 + PassTD*6 + RushTD*6 + RecTD*6 - INT*3 and the baseline is defined to be the #12 QB, the #24 RB, the #30 WR, and the #12 TE of each season. Note that all players below the baseline are assigned a VBD of zero. This is the only difference between VBD and "VBD". For more info, see the VBD primer. "VBD" "VBD" is just like VBD except that seasons below the baseline are given a negative value instead of being set to zero. There are cases where each is the more appropriate measure. |
