This week I am going to look at quarterback production under a different microscope. Knowing that a bad game or two can cost a QB his job, I have created this scoring equation to rate QBs effectiveness. Yes I know that a QB rating equation already exists, but I have found this equation better resembles the reasons a coach will bench a player.
Scoring:
[(completions - .60 x attempts) - (2 x fumbles) - (2 x fumbles lost) - (2 x interceptions)
+ (3 x # of total TDs) + (average yards per completion -10)]/games played
Note: Ratings only contain players with 200 or more passing yards.

Some interesting players jump off the list:
Daunte Culpepper (Min) - He is a great fantasy player, but you wonder how long he can continue to lose fumbles and throw interceptions and keep everyone solidly behind him.
Jake Plummer (Ari) - I am betting this is his last year as the starting QB in Arizona. Besides the fumbles (4) and interceptions (5), Jake is completing less than half of his passes.
Patrick Ramsey (Was) - He had an outstanding game 1 and looks to have distanced himself from the other Washington QBs.
Jon Kitna (Cin) - Yes he sucks too, but is better than the other QBs.
Chad Pennington (NYJ) - His early success translates to a big lead over Vinny Testaverde.
Tommy Maddox (Pit) - He has distanced himself from Kordell Stewart with two solid games.
