Quarterbacks

Miami's Jay Fiedler broke his right (throwing hand) thumb in the fourth quarter on Sunday Night. Status: The injury will be evaluated further today, but is expected to sideline Fiedler for 4 to 6 weeks. Ray Lucas is the starter in his absence.

Jacksonville's Mark Brunell was knocked out of the game on Sunday with a concussion. Status: The injury will be evaluated further later in the week, but remember that after-effects of concussions are very unpredictable - keep an eye on this injury as the news comes in over the week if your team has Brunell. Brunell characterized the concussion as "more severe" than last year's injury and said everything was very "foggy" after the game. Press Conference Update - Tom Coughlin referred to this as a moderate concussion. He stated he expects Brunell will be able to go this weekend, but won't know more until later in the week (Wednesday/Thursday).

Carolina's Rodney Peete suffered a concussion vs. Dallas and did not return to the game. Chris Weinke led the team in it's losing effort the rest of the way. More importantly than the concussion though is the diagnosis that Rodney Peete has a torn meniscus in his knee. Status: The surgery will cost Peete 3-6 weeks for recovery. Chris Weinke is once again the Panther's starting quarterback.

Kansas City's Trent Green tweaked an ankle on Sunday. Status: The injury is not considered serious at this time, though Green limped a good bit during the game.

Running Backs

Denver's Clinton Portis finished the game very sore according to coach Mike Shanahan in Monday's press conference. Status: He is expected to start this week.

Tennesee's Eddie George suffered a concussion on Sunday late in the fourth quarter. Status: The injury is not considered serious at this time. After-effects of concussions are very unpredictable - Keep an eye on this injury as the news comes in over the week if your team starts George.

Tennesee's FB Greg Comella dislocated his right shoulder on Sunday. Status: The injury will be evaluated further later in the week, but could keep him out 2-4 weeks according to coach Fisher.

St. Louis' FB Chris Hetherington injured his groin on Sunday. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

Wide Receivers

Miami's Chris Chambers was leveled with a nasty helmet to helmet hit that took him out of the game. He was carted off the field and did not return. Status: The concussion will be evaluated later in the week, but he is likely going to be very questionable this week at the minimum.

Detroit's Bill Schroeder suffered another hamstring pull on Sunday. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

Carolina's Steve Smith bruised his ribs while taking a vicious hit on a return in the fourth quarter. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

Kansas City's Marc Boerigter tweaked a knee on Sunday. Status: The injury is not considered serious at this time, although he received extensive treatment after the game on the injured joint.

Tight Ends

According to Jay Glazer of CBS Sportsline, Giant's Jeremy Shockey may have ligament damage in his big toe that will likely require surgery after the season. He could miss a few more weeks this season just to be in a position to play with pain.

Detroit's Mikhael Ricks left the game on Sunday with a groin injury and did not return. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time, but groin injuries are tricky to rehab.

San Diego's Josh Norman injured a calf on Sunday. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

Tennesee's Frank Wycheck sprained his neck on Sunday. Status: The injury is not considered serious at this time.

Green Bay's starting LT Chad Clifton left the game with possible knee ligament damage in his right knee on Sunday. Status: The injury is to the MCL in his right knee, and will require some weeks of rehabilitation, unless it the MCL is torn (season-ending). An MRI is scheduled for today.

Buffalo's starting RT Mike Williams injured his right hamstring on Sunday, and did not return after being carted off the field. Status: Williams is scheduled for an MRI today. He was on crutches after the game.

Washington's starting RG Brenden Stai injured his left knee on Sunday. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time: Further tests on the joint are scheduled for today.

Jacksonville's starting RT Maurice Williams broke his right leg on Sunday. Status: Williams is out indefinitely, perhaps for the rest of the season.

St. Louis' starting LT Grant Williams broke his right leg and dislocated his right ankle on Sunday. Status: Williams is finished playing in 2002 due to the severe injuries, which require surgery today.

Dallas' RG Solomon Page left the game on Sunday due to complications caused by a severe respiratory infection that impeded his ability to breathe. Status: Page is really sick, and may need a week off to recover.

Dallas' LG Larry Allen was hobbled by his ankle injury and played only a fraction of the game. Status: The ankle just isn't healing up and continues to limit Allen.
