Quarterbacks

Seattle's Trent Dilfer was knocked out of the game on Sunday after a helmet to helmet hit. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time, but X-rays were negative and Dilfer expects to play next week.

Tampa Bay's Brad Johnson injured his ribs on Sunday. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown, but may be serious. Reports Monday indicate that the injury is a broken left rib, which could sideline B. Johnson for at a few weeks (mostly depends on his ability to plain with pain).

Green Bay's Brett Favre twisted his left knee on Sunday and did not return to the game. Status: An MRI is scheduled to determine the extent of the injury, but Favre indicated he does not believe it to be really serious. The knee appears stable and the team does not believe the ACL or MCL is injured. Press Conference Update: Head coach Mike Sherman stated that Favre will likely play in Week 9 (Green Bay is on a bye this week). The MRI showed this to be a first degree sprain which should heal with rest.

Carolina's Chris Weinke suffered a concussion on Sunday and did not return to the game. Status: The extent of the injury is unknown at this time, and is being evaluated further as the week progresses.



Running Backs

Atlanta's backup running back/special teamer Travis Jervey injured the ACL in his left knee. Team doctors believe that it is torn. Status: Jervey is likely out for the season.

Atlanta's RB T.J. Duckett suffered an injury to his left foot that team doctors fear is torn connective tissue in the arch of the foot. Status: The injury is characterized as painful, but not debilitating. Keep your eyes on this one if you are a Duckett owner.
