Upgrades
QB Koy Detmer (PHI) - With Donovan McNabb expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle, Detmer will likely start next week. He has not started a game in three year, so do not expect too much. If you need a quarterback, Detmer could be an emergency option. It would be wise to keep him on the bench until he produces on the field.

QB Kordell Stewart (PIT) - Tommy Maddox suffered a neck injury against Tennessee on Sunday and Kordell Stewart stepped into the lineup. Stewart completed 13 of 17 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The extent of Maddox's injury is not yet known, but it is considered serious. With Cincinnati on next week's schedule, Stewart could be a quality start, if Maddox remains out.

QB Steve McNair (TEN) - McNair completed 18 of 33 passes for 257 yards and three touchdowns against Pittsburgh. McNair was very effective through the air, but his toe injury continues to bother him. He rushed for a meager 24 yards Sunday. Regardless, McNair looked good against a solid Pittsburgh defense.

QB Tim Couch (CLE) - Couch completed 22 of 35 passes for 242 passing yards and three touchdowns. Couch has totaled just 12 touchdowns on the season. He remains a fantasy backup at best. It is a shame that Cleveland does not play Cincinnati each week.

QB Drew Brees (SD) - Brees completed 29 of 50 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Chargers to a victory against San Francisco. Brees looked poised in the pocket. He will be a good one…a potential top-10 quarterback next year.

QB Chad Pennington (NYJ) - Pennington was great today. He completed 21 of 26 passes (80%) for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Coles, Moss and Chrebet are getting open and Pennington is delivering the ball. Look for Pennington to continue his solid play as the season progresses. He may not be a top fantasy quarterback, but he is producing numbers as a "spot starter".

QB Steve Beuerlein (DEN) - Griese left Sunday's game against Seattle with a sprained knee and did not return. The extent of the injury is not yet known. If you need a quarterback, Beuerlein is capable of producing good numbers in the Denver offense.

RB Duce Staley (PHI) - Staley totaled 216 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game versus Arizona. With McNabb expected to miss 6-8 weeks, Staley will become the centerpiece of the Eagles offense. Look for the Eagles to run more often. In addition, look for Detmer to throw short passes to Staley to move the chains.

RB Edgerrin James (IND) - James returned from injury (hamstring and rib) and gained 106 rushing yards on 24 carries. It's nice to see "the Edge" back in the lineup.

RB Clinton Portis (DEN) - Portis gained 188 total yards and continues to be the feature back for the Broncos. Plain and simple, Portis is a quality fantasy running back option. Mike Anderson scored a touchdown after Portis was pulled out of the game inside the ten yard line. Not to worry, Portis gained 40 yards on two previous carries and needed a break. Portis remains the goal line back.

RB William Green (CLE) - Green gained 96 yards on 25 carries as the feature back with Jamel White out of the lineup. Look for Green to continue to get the bulk of the carries, if he remains productive. We will keep you updated with the latest happenings in the Cleveland backfield.

RB Michael Bennett (MIN) - Bennett gained 130 rushing yards on 20 carries for his 4th consecutive 100-yard game. Bennett continues to show why he was drafted in the first round last year. Obviously, keep Bennett in your lineup.

RB Stephen Davis (WAS) - Davis gained 59 yards on 19 carries Sunday as he returned from a knee injury. The yardage numbers are not impressive, but he received the bulk of the carries over Kenny Watson. Look for Davis to become more productive as the season progresses.

WR Marvin Harrison (IND) - Ever since I criticized Harrison's touchdown total, he has PRODUCED! He has scored four touchdowns in the last two weeks to go along with 20 catches for 275 receiving yards. He is the #1 fantasy receiver in the game.

WR Chad Johnson (CIN) - Johnson caught 4 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown against Cleveland Sunday. Johnson has gained 100+ receiving yards in the last two weeks and he has scored a touchdown in each of the last 3 weeks. He has become the playmaker in the Bengals offense. He is a solid option as a 3rd fantasy receiver and the only Bengals receiver worth owning.

WR Terrell Owens (SF) - Owens continues to be a stud receiver. He caught 7 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns against San Diego.

WR Amani Toomer (NYG) - Toomer posted his 2nd consecutive productive week. He caught 5 passes for 83 yards and a score last week. This week, he caught 8 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. TE Jeremy Shockey continues to grab the attention of opposing defenses, which helps free up Toomer.

WR Randy Moss (MIN) - Moss has struggled this season, especially in the touchdown category. He had six catches for 115 yards and a score on Sunday. Will this performance help Moss gain momentum for a strong finish of the season? It cannot hurt.

WR Kevin Dyson (TEN) - Dyson gained 87 yards on 8 receptions and scored two touchdowns against Pittsburgh. He has looked horrible this season, but Sunday's performance should open your eye. If you need a wide receiver, stash Dyson on your bench and see if he produces again before you activate him.

WR Curtis Conway (SD) - Conway continued his excellent season on Sunday with 7 catches for 152 yards. Brees has been able to find Conway throughout the season. Look for this trend to continue. Conway is a solid #2 fantasy receiver.

WR Donald Driver (GB) - Driver continues to be Favre's favorite receiver. He caught 4 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown (84 yards) against Minnesota. Driver has developed into an excellent receiver. Heck, Favre has made plenty of receivers look good in his career. Obviously, keep Driver in your lineup.

TE Chad Lewis (PHI) - With McNabb expected to miss 6-8 weeks, look for Koy Detmer to rely on the tight end position as an safety blanket. Look for Lewis' yardage production to increase.

TE Jeremy Shockey (NYG) - Shockey caught 11 passes for 111 yards against Washington Sunday. He's still bothered by a toe injury, but his toughness keeps him in the lineup. Shockey continues to be a must play at the tight end position.

Downgrades

QB Donovan McNabb (PHI) - McNabb is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a broken right ankle. This is horrible news for McNabb's owners. McNabb hinted that he could play on the broken ankle in post game press conferences. Look for the Eagles to sit their franchise quarterback until the playoffs.

QB Tommy Maddox (PIT) - Maddox left Sunday's game with an apparent neck injury. The extent of the injury is not yet known. It is likely that Maddox will sit out next week's game. Kordell Stewart will get the start, if Maddox is unable to play.

QB Shane Matthews (WAS) - Plain and simple, Matthews is awful. Matthews was able to throw for two touchdowns. However, he completed just 15 of 35 passes (43%) for a meager 113 passing yards. There is rumbling that Matthews could be benched this week in favor of Danny Wuerffel. Keep him on your fantasy bench.

QB Brian Griese (DEN) - Griese left Sunday's game with a sprained left knee. The extend of the injury is not yet known. Steve Beuerlein replaced Griese in the lineup. More as we know it.

RB Shaun Alexander (SEA) - Alexander has been a major disappointment this season. He gained just 18 yards rushing Sunday against Denver and is averaging a meager 3.3 yards/carry this season. He has scored 11 touchdowns this year which has made him tough not to play. However, five of those touchdowns came against Minnesota in one game.

RB Jerome Bettis (PIT) - Bettis gained just six yards on four carries in his first action returning from a sprained knee. Look for Bettis to see more action next week, but it's difficult to see him getting 20+ carries in any game for the remainder of the season. Amos Zeroue has been very impressive during Bettis' absence.

RB Deuce McAllister (NO) - McAllister suffered a sprained right ankle Sunday against Atlanta and was forced to leave the game. The severity of the injury is not known.

WR James Thrash/Todd Pinkston/Antonio Freeman (PHI) - With McNabb expected to be out for 6-8 weeks, the Eagles receivers have limited value.

WR Plaxico Burress/Hines Ward (PIT) - If the injury to Tommy Maddox keeps him out of the lineup for an extended period of time, the value of both Burress and Ward will suffer with Kordell Stewart at quarterback. We'll keep you updated with the Maddox injury.

WR Az Hakim (DET) - Hakim will miss the rest of the season after dislocating and fracturing his left hip.

WR Kevin Johnson (CLE) - Johnson has scored just one touchdown this season. Couch threw three touchdowns on Sunday, but Johnson was shut out once again. Johnson's value is extremely low. He is a 5th fantasy receiver at best.
