Upgrades
QB Brad Johnson (TB) - Johnson passed for 276 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's victory over Atlanta. Johnson is not the most glamorous quarterback, but he has the ability to post big touchdown games. With 15 touchdowns in his last 5 games, Johnson is on fire.

QB Jeff Garcia (SF) - Garcia scored four touchdowns (3 passing, 1 rushing) in Sunday's victory over the Cowboys. After a slow start to begin the season, Garcia is proving his worth down the stretch. A week 15 showdown with Green Bay should light up the scoreboard.

QB Rich Gannon (OAK) - Gannon threw for 328 yards, but failed to score a touchdown against the Chargers. Gannon has now passed for 300 yards in a record 10th game this season. Despite difficult matchups against Miami and Denver in the next two weeks, keep Gannon in your lineup.

QB Steve McNair (TEN) - McNair was very efficient on Sunday with 19 of 23 passing for 237 yards and a touchdown. Despite battling rib and toe injuries, McNair gained 49 rushing yards in the game. McNair continues to impress with his production and pain threshold.

QB Michael Vick (ATL) - Vick struggled on Sunday with just 125 yards passing, 15 yards rushing and a touchdown. Why do I give him the upgrade? Well, a quick look at the schedule shows a week 15 matchup against Seattle and a week 16 matchup against Detroit. Keep Vick in your lineup.

QB Jon Kitna (CIN) - Kitna continues to impress with yet another productive performance. Kitna passed for 296 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina. With six consecutive games over 250 yards and 14 scores in that period, Kitna has become a top-10 quarterback for the remainder of the season. A nice matchup against Jacksonville should provide quality fantasy numbers in week 15.

RB Deuce McAllister (NO) - McAllister was battling a sprained ankle heading into the game, but the ankle appeared fine as he rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns. McAllister has great matchups in the remaining weeks with Minnesota in week 15 and Cincinnati in week 16. The future looks bright for McAllister.

RB Fred Taylor (JAC) - Taylor rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown against Cleveland on Sunday. Taylor has remained healthy this season and fantasy owners have been rewarded with 1,150 rushing yards and seven scores for the season.

RB Priest Holmes (KC) - Is it possible to upgrade Priest Holmes? Holmes had yet another excellent performance this weekend. I wonder how many fantasy owners passed on Priest Holmes for Shaun Alexander during their fantasy drafts.

RB William Green (CLE) - With Sunday's 119 yard performance against Jacksonville, Green is now averaging 105 rushing yards per game over the last four games. With a matchup against Indianapolis in week 15, look for another quality performance by Green.

RB Eddie George (TEN) - George gained just 51 rushing yards on Sunday, but he manage to score 2 touchdowns. George has now scored 11 total touchdowns on the season and should be a quality play in the next two weeks against New England and Jacksonville.

RB Paul Smith (SF) - Garrison Hearst hyperextended his left knee in Sunday's game against Dallas. Hearst is not expected to miss next week's game against Green Bay. Smith replaced Hearst in Sunday's game. It may be a good idea to grab Smith to provide some RB insurance, if you rely on Hearst for production.

WR Laverneous Coles (NYJ) - Coles continues to impress with quality performances. Coles caught 6 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown against a tough Denver pass defense. He has averaged 7.5 catches and 119 receiving yards in the last 4 games. Keep him in your lineup.

WR Chad Johnson (CIN) - Johnson caught six passes for 114 yards and has now caught 100+ yards in four of his last five games. Keep him in your lineup for the fantasy playoffs.

WR Reggie Wayne (IND) - Wayne had five catches for 103 yards Sunday against Tennessee. He may not be worthy as a starting fantasy receiver every week. Wayne is slowly becoming a quality complimentary receiver opposite Marvin Harrison. Expect Wayne to have one more good performance against either Cleveland or NY Giants in the next two weeks.

WR Steve Smith (CAR) - Smith gained 144 receiving yards and scored a touchdown against Cincinnati. Add two punt returns for scores and Smith earns fantasy MVP for the week. There is no need to pick up Smith. He has been too inconsistent this season to insert into your lineup.

WR Muhsin Muhammad (CAR) - Muhammad caught 8 passes for 106 yards and a score on Sunday. Muhammad has been a big disappointment this season and could have a difficult time matching these numbers in the remaining games of the season.

WR Terrell Owens (SF) - Owens continues his tremendous play and is currently carrying fantasy teams into the playoffs. Owens had 12 catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns (including the game winner) against Dallas. With two touchdowns on Sunday, Owens has 13 total touchdowns on the season.

WR Derrius Thompson (WAS) - Thompson caught six passes for 122 yards Sunday and has now caught 12 balls for 216 yards in the last two weeks. Thompson is becoming a potential fantasy option for the remainder of the season. However, a difficult matchup against Philadelphia should keep Thompson out of your lineup. A good matchup against Houston in week 16 makes Thompson a worthwhile pickup.

TE Doug Jolley (OAK) - Jolley had six catches for 104 yards against San Diego. With Roland Williams battling injuries, Jolley has made the most of his opportunity. With Rich Gannon at quarterback, Jolley is a quality option at the tight end position.

Downgrades

QB Tommy Maddox (PIT) - With Carolina and Tampa Bay in next two weeks, it would be wise to consider benching Maddox for the fantasy playoffs. Maddox threw for 325 yards Sunday, but he committed three critical turnovers and failed to throw a touchdown. Will Bill Cowher consider replacing Maddox with Kordell Stewart?

QB Aaron Brooks (NO) - Brooks left Sunday's game in the third quarter with soreness in his throwing shoulder. Brooks played with an injured arm against Tampa Bay last week. If you own Brooks, make sure you have another option at your disposal.

QB David Carr (HOU) - Carr was horrendous against Pittsburgh. He completed just 3 of 10 passes for 33 yards. This is just one reason you should not start a rookie quarterback in the fantasy playoffs. If you have Carr, wait until next year.

RB Garrison Hearst (SF) - Garrison Hearst hyperextended his left knee in Sunday's game against Dallas. Hearst is not expected to miss next week's game against Green Bay. It may be wise to grab Paul Smith, if you have Hearst.

RB Jerome Bettis (PIT) - Bettis gained just 30 yards on 14 carries. Amos Zeroue gained 69 yards on 11 carries as he received the majority of playing time in the second half. Bettis is expected to start next week's game, but could get an early pull, if he is not effective.

RB Edgerrin James (IND) - James gained 70 yards on 18 carries against Tennessee. However, James Mungro had the Colts only rushing touchdown. James' touchdown total has been very disappointing this season. He has scored just 3 total touchdowns this season.

WR Tim Brown (OAK) - Brown has been very inconsistent this season. He caught just 3 passes for 23 yards against San Diego with no touchdowns. Brown has scored just 2 touchdowns this season and should be considered a #3 fantasy receiver at best. Difficult matchups against Miami and Denver in the next two weeks could limit Brown's production.

WR Johnnie Morton (KC) - Morton has been a major bust this season. Keep this in mind for the future…a wide receiver changing teams (and quarterbacks and offensive systems) tends to have difficulty repeating the previous year's performance.

WR Keyshawn Johnson (TB) - Brad Johnson threw four touchdowns against Atlanta. Unfortunately, Keenan McCardell caught two scores and Joe Jurevicius caught the other two touchdowns. Johnson caught just 2 passes for 25 yards and failed to score a touchdown in the game.
