Upgrades
QB Drew Bledsoe (BUF) - Bledsoe put together another great performance against Oakland. He finished with 417 passing yards and two touchdowns. Bledsoe did throw three interceptions in Sunday's shootout against Rich Gannon. Two of the three interceptions occurred inside the Bills red zone. If you have not figured it out yet…keep Bledsoe in your lineup every week. Bledsoe has averaged 352 passing yards and 2.4 passing touchdowns this season.

QB Rich Gannon (OAK) - Gannon leads the most explosive offense in the NFL. He is rewarding fantasy owners with outstanding numbers. With Sunday's performance of 357 passing yards and 4 total touchdowns, Gannon continues his hot streak. Gannon has passed for 403, 381 and 357 passing yards in his last 3 games. One side note…Gannon and the Raiders have already used their bye week, which means clear sailing and Gannon in the starting lineup for fantasy owners each week, if he remains healthy.

QB Brian Griese (DEN) - Denver spread the field on Sunday, which allowed Griese to throw for 316 yards and two touchdowns. Griese has managed to combine for two touchdowns in each of the first five games of the season and has surpassed the 300-yard barrier in each of the last 2 weeks. With Smith, McCaffrey and Sharpe catching the ball, Griese should continue his consistent play.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Tommy Maddox (PIT) - Maddox looked great against the Saints on Sunday with 268 passing yards and three touchdowns. Maddox will be a productive fantasy option against favorable matchups. More importantly, Maddox will make Plaxico Burress and Hines Ward more productive.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Patrick Ramsey (WAS) - Ramsey, Washington's 1st round pick, entered the Redskins' lineup with an injury to starting quarterback Danny Wuerffel. Ramsey looked good throwing the ball and showed a very good grasp of the offense. Ramsey finished his first NFL game with 268 yards and two touchdowns. It appears that Ramsey will be the new starter in Washington. Ramsey is worth a roster spot in keeper leagues, but his production this season will most likely be inconsistent.

*** Waiver Wire - QB Chad Pennington (NYJ) - Pennington finished with 245 yards and two touchdowns this week. He is a much better fantasy option than Vinny Testaverde in the Jets offense. Pennington showed the ability to get the ball downfield on Sunday, which Testaverde was having trouble with before his injury. Pennington is a fantasy backup at best.

QB Kerry Collins (NYG) - Collins finished with 228 yards and three touchdowns against the Cowboys. Collins is too inconsistent to warrant a designation as an every week fantasy starter. It is a very good sign to see Collins finish with his first multiple touchdown game of the season, but I will wait a little bit until he shows some consistency.

RB Corey Dillon (CIN) - Dillon exploded with an excellent performance on Sunday. Dillon finished with 185 total yards and 2 touchdowns against Indianapolis. Dillon's production is inconsistent because of the Bengals' inconsistent offense. With difficult games against San Diego, Atlanta and Tampa Bay in the early part of the season, Dillon started slowly. With easier matchups in future weeks, Dillon's production should continue to increase.

RB Curtis Martin (NYJ) - After gaining 98 rushing yards in his first 4 games, Martin finished with 119 rushing yards and a touchdown against Kansas City. This is a good sign, but let us take a step back and look at the whole picture…the Jets were playing against Kansas City. Heck, everyone scores against K.C. I will give Martin the upgrade for now, but let us see what he can do against a decent defense.

RB Clinton Portis (DEN) - It is becoming increasingly apparent that the future is now for Portis in Denver. Portis was the feature back against San Diego and he performed quite well. Portis finished with 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Olandis Gary finished the game with 8 yards on four carries. Look for Portis to get more touches as the season progresses.

RB Charlie Garner (OAK) - Garner finished with 177 total yards and 2 touchdowns on Sunday. The feature back in an explosive offense is extremely valuable in terms of fantasy production. Garner's touches have been limited, but he is making the most of his opportunities. Keep Garner in your lineup.

RB Garrison Hearst (SF) - Hearst continues to split carries with Kevan Barlow, which concerns me. Hearst has been able to hold off the talented Barlow for the starting spot. I am upgrading Hearst because of his 116 rushing yards and a score against the Rams. If you have Hearst, make sure you have Barlow on your roster. If either player befalls injured, you will have a top-10 fantasy back.

RB Jerome Bettis (PIT) - The Bus finally got rolling on Sunday with 84 rushing yards and a touchdown. With the presence of Maddox throwing the ball, Bettis saw fewer 8-man fronts and was able to see some running lanes. Bettis struggled during the first few weeks of the season. He was benched last week, but this week's performance gives Bettis a little more job security.

RB T.J. Duckett (ATL) - Duckett looked great on Sunday. The only problem…he did not get enough touches. While Dunn struggled against the Buccaneers quick defense, Duckett hit the holes and powered his way to 52 rushing yards on 11 carries. Duckett also finished with three catches for 34 yards. Look for Duckett to be the team's feature back by week 8.

RB Travis Henry (BUF) - Buffalo's passing offense is great. This keeps defenses back peddling, which allows for quality running lanes for Henry. Henry finished with 105 total yards and a touchdown against Oakland. Henry should see plenty of scoring chances in Buffalo's high scoring offense.

*** Waiver Wire - RB Deshaun Foster (CAR) - Foster has yet to return from injury, but his value increased on Sunday. Lamar Smith struggled on Sunday with just 49 yards on 18 carries. More importantly, Smith fumbled the ball 2 times against Arizona. Keep Foster in mind, if you have an open roster spot.

WR Eric Moulds/Peerless Price (BUF) - Both Moulds and Price are having excellent seasons with Drew Bledsoe at quarterback. Moulds and Price combined for 238 receiving yards and a touchdown on 15 catches against Oakland. Moulds has averaged 105 receiving yards/game while scoring three touchdowns in the first 5 weeks. Price has averaged 98.6 receiving yards/game while scoring four touchdowns in the first 5 weeks. Keep Moulds and Price in the lineup.

WR Laveraneus Coles (NYJ) - Coles looked good for the second consecutive week. He finished with eight receptions for 116 yards. There appears to be a direct correlation between Pennington's insertion in the lineup and the increased production of Coles. Many owners dropped Coles after the slow start to the season. If he is on the waiver wire, grab him.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Jerry Porter (OAK) - Porter looked good on Sunday with 117 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Porter is only worth a fifth WR spot on your roster, but his upside is great. The Raiders like to throw the ball, so Porter should see a few more quality outings. If Rice or Brown is injured, Porter will step in and produce immediately. Give him a shot, if you have an open roster spot in larger leagues.

WR Ed McCaffrey (DEN) - McCaffrey started the season slowly, but has performed quite well over the last 2 weeks. McCaffrey grabbed eight catches for 90 yards in week 4 and finished with six catches for 113 yards and a touchdown in week 5. The Broncos have made it a priority to spread the field and pass the ball more often in the last 2 weeks. Of course, passing the ball will help McCaffrey's stat line.

WR Plaxico Burress (PIT) - Burress scored a touchdown in his second consecutive game this week. It is amazing what happens when the Steelers replace Stewart and get a quarterback in the lineup that can deliver the ball to the receiving crew on a consistent basis. Look for Burress to continue producing with Maddox at quarterback.

WR David Patten (NE) - It is the revolving receiver door in New England this season and Patten produced this week. Patten will continue to flourish as long as Troy Brown is sidelined. However, look for Patten's production to be limited with the return Troy Brown and the emergence of Deion Branch.

*** Waiver Wire - WR Brandon Stokley (Bal) - The Ravens will run first, but when they pass they usually look towards Brandon Stokley or Todd Heap. On Sunday night, Brandon caught 4 passes for 78yards and two TDs.

Downgrades

QB Jake Plummer (ARI) - Plummer and the entire Cardinals offense continues to struggle. Plummer completed less than 50% of his passes on Sunday. He has been unable to get the ball to David Boston, which is the main reason for his lack of production. It will be difficult to win fantasy games with the inconsistent Plummer as your starting quarterback.

QB Michael Vick (ATL) - Vick sprained his non-throwing shoulder against the Buccaneers and was forced out of the lineup. Vick said after Sunday's game that he was not sure he would be able to play next week. X-ray's were negative on Vick's shoulder, but he was unable to lift his arm up following the game.

QB Danny Wuerffel (WAS) - Wuerffel was knocked out of Sunday's game with a shoulder injury. Patrick Ramsey replaced Wuerffel and looked good. It appears that Ramsey will be the Redskins' new starting quarterback.

RB Eddie George (TEN) - The Titans offense, especially their run blocking did not look good again on Sunday. Because the Titans were ineffective running the ball, George's touches were limited. George's value is low right now, so there will be little return on investment. Look for his production to increase as the season progresses. However, try to find another back to fill in for George until his production increases.

RB Lamar Smith (CAR) - Lamar Smith struggled on Sunday with just 49 yards on 18 carries. More importantly, Smith fumbled the ball 2 times against Arizona. Smith can rebound with a solid performance next week against Dallas. However, if Smith continues to fumble the ball, make sure you have running back insurance.

RB Warrick Dunn (ATL) - With the continued emergence of rookie T.J. Duckett, look for Warrick Dunn's touches to continue to diminish in the Falcons' offense. Duckett has been producing when given the chance. How much longer will the Falcons try to feature Warrick Dunn?

RB Olandis Gary/Mike Anderson (DEN) - Portis was the feature back against San Diego and he performed quite well. Portis finished with 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Olandis Gary finished the game with 8 yards on four carries. Look for Portis to get more touches as the season progresses. Trade Gary and Anderson while they have a little bit of value.

RB Ron Dayne (NYG) - The Giants continue to give Dayne a few chances, but he has yet to do anything with those chances. He has hit rock bottom and has no fantasy value. Did you really need me to tell you that?

RB Fred Taylor (JAC) - Yes Fred looks awesome and is not hurt. But he is also being lifted inside the 10 yard line for Stacey Mack. Stacey Mack finished with just 3 carries for 2 yards, but did snatch another TD from Fred Taylor. This looks like it may be more of a trend than an aberration.

WR Torry Holt/Isaac Bruce (STL) - The values of Holt and Bruce have dropped dramatically since draft day. Holt and Bruce were both expected to be top-10 fantasy receivers. With the injury to Kurt Warner, Holt and Bruce are not considered every week starters anymore. Look for each to have excellent days, but inconsistency may reign supreme. The Rams offense will struggle on the road and produce at home.

WR David Boston (ARI) - Boston and Plummer are having problems connecting for the big play because of constant double teams. Boston was held to 43 yards against Carolina. Now is the time to try to steal Boston from another owner. Look for Boston to finish the season with a strong second half. Boston's value is the lowest it will ever be, so go get him.
