Credentials:

        10 years fantasy football experience

Writer/collaborator on FBGs Player of the Day Series

Frequent poster on FBG message board

Winner of the You Know Youre A Footballguy When Contest

Participant in no less than 10 redraft leagues per year (including the well-known PruLeague)

The ability to keep my wife happy DESPITE my obviously chronic football obsession

Defending champion of renowned Penn League

Key to FF success:

Be prepared! Anything can happen on draft day, the more you know, the better you can adjust

Believe in your projections! Dont spend all that time working on projections just to throw it out the door on draft day.

Take a different perspective! Facts are facts. Almost 50% of top 10 players fail to repeat the following year, use that to your advantage. Never be content to expect small improvements/declines from last season.

Statistics are your friend! Statistics are the lifeblood of fantasy gaming. Just remember, statistics are only useful in context to the overall fundamental picture. Crunching numbers is vital, but not at the expense of the realities of the game.

Free agency will win your league! No matter how prepared you are, things happen. Injuries can ruin your season unless you strike while the iron is hot in free agency. Three years in a row I lost one of my top two picks, but managed to win my league (two out of three years) thanks to savvy free agency moves.

"Id say strong to quite strong." Ben Stiller as Greg Focker

Pre-game ritual:

Going for a run with my dog, reminding my wife what a great Saturday night I provided her, warming up the Sunday Ticket on the 60-incher, making a few calls to Bermuda. J

Favorite players:

Reggie White The all-time sack king ruled the gridiron in Philly for a lot of years. No one else personified the promise that the Birds had in those times.

Randall Cunningham Randall never got us a Super Bowl, but he was amazing to watch in most years and one heckuva fantasy player to boot.

Brett Favre Anyone that can drink two bottles of Jim Beam on Friday and Saturday nights, then follow it up with a 320-yard, 4 TD performance; and REPEAT the process for a decade is a guy youve got to love.

Shaun Alexander The newest entrant on my list, only because he single-handedly saved my season (in four leagues!) last year when my selections of Edge and Jamal Lewis almost derailed me at the starting gate.

Best calls of 2001:

Nabbing Shaun Alexander in free agency, drafting D. Mason as a mid round sleeper, grabbing Aaron Brooks in six leagues.

Worst calls of 2001:

Drafting Edge ahead of Faulk L, projecting Priest Holmes as a bust, and selecting Gonzo too early.

Favorite FF team name: Woodrows StrongPimpHandz

Ginger or MaryAnn: What, no Mrs. Howell?!?

Favorite team: The 2002 Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. E-A-G-L-E-S!!

People Id Invite to a Dinner Party:

        Hugh Hefner

        Samuel L. Jackson

        Stan Lee

        Douglas Adams

        Dr. Dre

Angelina Jolie (gets to stay for dessert!)

Cameron Diaz (gets to stay for dessert!)

Why I became a Footballguy:

Well, it was either that or become a minority owner in the Iowa Barnstormers.
