Sometimes to find interesting facts/trends you have to look at the data game by game. Last week I looked at eight AFC teams (http://footballguys.com/inside8.cfm). This week we will cover the remaining 8 AFC Teams.

My takes:
- Can't stop the run at all. Last 7 games they have yielded over 4.4 RYPA.
- Turnover ratio of +6 is distorted by Miami game.
- Only San Diego (best rush defense) was able to hold rushing yards below 100.
- Already 5 games where they have scored 30+ points. They also scored 29 in one game.

My takes:
- Can be very strong against the run. Held three teams below 60 yards rushing.
- Rescore says this team should be 3-4 (instead of 5-2)
- Rescore data shows this team should be scoring 6 less points a game.
- Rushing yards per carry has been por the last three games.
- Turnover ratio is inconsistent. Had -11 ratio in two worst games.

My takes:
- Rescore says this team is a lot better than actual score.
- Rush defense is pourous in the last 5 games, but tightening up.
- Team is tough against the pass having yielded only two 200+ yard games.
- Lack of rushing yards looks to be because of opportunities.
- Passing yards has declined in last 5 games.

My takes:
- Except for last week, the Jets have been terrible stopping the run.
- The Jets have not yielded a 300 yard passing game, but 3 efforts over 275 yards.
- Only one game with over 100 yards rushing.
- Rescore equals actual data meaning this team is as bad as they look.

My takes:
- Passing yards look about the same under Tommy Maddox, but points scored has surged.
- Rescore data is misleading because of bad games in Weeks 1 and 2.
- Rushing defense remains very strong with 4 games yielding less than 3.5 RYPA.
- Pass defense was exploited early in the season and appears to be struggling again.

My takes:
- Rush defense has been stellar even without Junior Seau.
- Only 1 game with less than 1250 yards rushing. Consistently awesome.
- Rescore shows they should also be 6-1, but in a lot more close games.
- Only two games with 200+ yards passing.
- The 29 passing yards allowed against Houston distorts their pass defense stats.

My takes:
- Rush defense has fallen apart and is being exploited badly.
- Pass defense was tightened, but at the expense of stopping the run.
- Running game finally got on track the last two games.
- Losing turnover battle in most contests.
- Rescore shows this team isn't quite as bad as the score shows.
