Was/Is Manning, Edge, and Harrison the best fantasy QB/RB/WR trio of all time? Here's the plan: I'll look for the top QB, RB, and WR for every team since 1970. Then I'll take a look at the VBD points for each of those players. Instead ranking them by their raw sum, I wanted to weight the list in favor of trios that were strong top to bottom. For example, I want to say that the Favre/Levens/Freeman trio from the 97 Packers was better -- as a complete trio -- than the Aikman/Smith/Irvin trio of 1992. The Cowboy group had more total value, but the Packer trio was more evenly distributed. To give extra consideration to balanced trios, I ranked the trios by the following weighted average:
(highest VBD) + 2*(2nd-highest VBD) + 3*(3rd-highest VBD)

Manning/Edge/Harrison ends up looking pretty good. Their 2000 performance was 3rd best since 1970, and their 1999 effort was 14th. There are lots of individuals that have multiple appearances in the top 20, but this gang, and Young/Watters/Rice are the only groups to appear multiple times as a trio. An extended list is below.
