Quarterbacks

QBs Jon Kitna & Carson Palmer (Cin) will soon know who will be the Bengals starting QB for the 2004.  HC Marvin Lewis says the coaching staff will make the decision in the coming months and the announcement will be made before the mini-camps begin in May.

QB Jeff Garcia (SF) was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Wednesday.

QB Kurt Warner (StL) believes he “should be a starter” somewhere next season.  He added that he wants to play where he’ll remain the starter without a bad game or half sending him back to the bench.


Running Backs

RB Stephen Davis (Car) did not practice on Wednesday, and it looks like he’ll sit this weekend.  If Davis doesn’t play, DeShaun Foster will get the start.

RB Antowain Smith (NE) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend despite an apparent injury to his right leg (he’s not listed on the injury report).

RB Duce Staley (Phi) will most likely leave the Eagles this off-season, and there are rumors that he could end up in Dallas.

RB Correll Buckhalter (Phi) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend.

RB Earnest Graham (TB) has been signed by the team.


Wide Receivers

WR Marvin Harrison (Ind) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend.

WR Brandon Stokley (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday in order to spend time in the hospital with his ill son.  Stokley said his son is improving.


Tight Ends

TE Dallas Clark (Ind) is still out with his injured ankle.

TE Marcus Pollard (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday.  He should play this weekend but could be limited.  Pete Mitchell is expected to get a good deal of time this weekend.


Place Kickers & Special Teamers

P Hunter Smith (Ind) has yet to kick in this year’s playoffs (even though the team has played two games).


Offensive Linemen

G Damien Woody (NE) is officially doubtful for this weekend’s game, but it is likely that he out for the remainder of the season with his torn MCL.  Russ Hochstein will get the start.


Defensive Linemen

DT John Browning (KC) signed a five-year extension with the team.

DE Jerome McDougle (Phi) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend.

DE Brandon Whiting (Phi) did not practice on Wednesday but should play this weekend.


Linebackers


Defensive Backs

S Idrees Bashir (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday but should play this weekend.

S Mike Doss (Ind) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend.

CB Nick Harper (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday but should play this weekend.

CB Walt Harris (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday but should play this weekend.

S Donald Strickland (Ind) did not practice on Wednesday but should play this weekend.

S Greg Wesley (KC) signed a six-year extension with the team.

CB Troy Vincent (Phi) practiced on Wednesday and should play this weekend.


Coaches

HC Mike Mularkey (Buf) has agreed to be the team’s next head coach.

HC Lovie Smith (Chi) has agreed to be the team’s next head coach.

HC Dick Vermeil (KC) has signed a two-year extension with the team.
