QB Drew Bledsoe (Buf) says he wants to return to Buffalo in 2004 and team president Tom Donahoe wants him to return. However, Donahoe also says the new head coach will have input into any decision to bring back Bledsoe.

QB Brett Favre (GB) has been practicing without his splint but will likely wear it this weekend.

QB Mark Brunell (Jac) will not return to the Jaguars next season.

QB Marc Bulger (StL) is still the starting QB for the Rams despite being pulled in the 4th quarter in week 17.

QB Steve McNair (Ten) practiced on Wednesday and should start this weekend.

QB Neil O'Donnell (Ten) will retire at the end of the season.

RB Chester Taylor (Bal) practiced on Thursday and is expected to play this weekend.

RB Brian Westbrook (Phi) tore his left triceps but has not been ruled out of post-season action. However, Westbrook will need surgery and is reportedly leaning towards going ahead and having the procedure done. He can't use it to push off so it's likely that (if he does play) he will not be put in blocking situations. He did not practice on Friday and will seek a third opinion on his torn triceps.

RB Jerome Bettis (Pit) wants to return to the team next season and says he would be willing to take a smaller role in the offense.

RB Amos Zereoue (Pit) says his future in Pittsburgh is "most definitely" in question and believes that he and Jerome Bettis can no longer be on the same team together. Zereoue believes he could be a 1,500-yard RB but has not been given an opportunity to prove it.

RB Robert Holcombe (Ten) is listed as questionable, but he's could be a bit closer to doubtful for this weekend with his injured hamstring. Chris Brown will likely get some looks as the 3rd down back with Holcombe hobbled. Holcombe was limited in Thursday's practice.

WR Cedric James (Dal) has been signed by the team.

(OC) Mike McCarthy should be fired. (HC) Jim Haslett should be fired. The whole coaching staff should go. If they fired my coach, then they might as well fire Joe Horn or trade me."
