Below you'll find a list of the top 100 QBs (ranked according to career VBD) whose careers started in 1970 or later (for the RB, WR, and TE lists, see Ricky Watters and Terrell Owens). Despite only playing for two and a half seasons, Garcia already ranks 22nd. He's right between Dave Krieg, who played for 19 seasons, and Kenny Stabler, who played for 15. And that's a good illustration of how VBD ranks people. Krieg played forever and amassed some pretty nice totals, but most of his production had very little value, at least in the fantasy sense, because he never played at a level that would set him apart substantially from his competition. There's some value -- but not very much -- in being the 10th-ranked QB, but there's a ton of value in being the 1st- or 2nd-ranked QB. To oversimplify it, one 40-TD season is a lot more valuable than two 25-TD seasons. And that's why Garcia outranks guys who have almost 200 more career passing TDs than he does. Because he's had two monster seasons, which is more than most people ever have. One more season like his previous two will vault him another 10 spots or so. After that, the climb gets much steeper.
